  Do you find that understanding and explaining SPIRITUALITY "is like trying to squeeze mercury with a nutcracker"?

  this was the observation made by professor kieran flanagan who edited the compendium: "a sociology of spirituality".. .

  at least the good news is that science is making a start in coming to grips with human spirituality.. one assumes our biggest advances will come from sbnr (spiritual but not religious) scientists since they are less constrained by religious baggage, dogma, sectarianism, divided loyalties, conflict-of-interest and other impediments..

  when the zealous j w wholeheartedly believes in "the truth", that he has the only truth and that god favours only his chosen religion.... he is in effect saying what the title says when he nods approval to these and many similar statements in wt literature:-.

  Just thinking, Jesus had pitty... says they tossed and thrown about like sheep with out a shepperd. I have not seen JW's showing pitty for anyone, they are hateful. Also the scriptures say it is God's war not man's war.

  Like going out in FS they always bad mouthing about everyone when they come back to the vehicle. always talking like they are above everyone else. Too many incodents to really mention but I can not stand their attitude always talking to you like you have never heard anything or learned anything in your whole life. I only seen were an elder anounced some one being DFed but it did not the least bit sound like he had any sympothy or pitty for the person or sorry or hope maybe they come back or something, it was down right hateful, and the last time I was at a meeting this elder looking at me as if I was vomit or something... There no way I will go back around that again...

  hi, i just wanted to know as i came here believing it is an 'anti-jw' site.

  or at least one where former jws can meet together (or ones struggling within the wt).

  yet looking at some early posts it seems it was originally for active jws.

  Brother tells Elders "fermented Coke" made him get a drink driving charge???? LOL!!

  yes a brother was interrigated by the s.s elders in a local ethnic cong.

  for getting arrested while driving under the influence of alcohol....to save his privleges he says that he had no alcohol at all, but did drink from an old bottle of coke which must have "fermented" into alcohol in his stomach...... maybe one of the best bullcrap stories i ever heard.....we need more honest elders like him in jehovahs "clean organisation..

  Yes, Coke once had a very small amount of cocain in it.But by 1902, there was as little as 1/400 of a grain of cocaine per ounce.

  JW's called me into tell me to forgive freely, and it just happen to be what the WT study was about, brought up a 40 year old letter. HMMM sounds like they need to forgive freely to me, call me in to lecture me Ha! then tell me they can't beleive what I say because I supposedly said something about GODS PEOPLE, well we even then I can not beleive anything they say either, CASE CLOSED and the bastards better not follow me to work again either.

  What the Witnesses did to me as a child has made a physical memmory not a mental memmory, physical memmory can not be forgiven, it can not be forgotten. If it were not true then they should have made ammends with me when I was a child. I already told the judge, it is too late...

  GET THE HELL OUT!

  i'm sure we're all familiar with the crazy excuse that the watch tower society leadership came up with to justify their nine year period as a un ngo (non governmental organization).

  amazingly, this seems to make perfect sense with watch tower apologists, who don't stop for a moment to ponder the following:.

  you don't need to be a un ngo to use the un libraryif it was so innocent for them to hold un ngo status just to use the library, why did they withdraw their status when the issue received media attention?that aside, we are now witnessing the unravelling of fresh scandals to hit the society, most notably:.

  Kingdom Hall Libraries just for beating kids.....isn't this Child abuse?

  yeah no "sunday school" for our kids because it's too "christendom" for us, so our 5 year old's need to sit thru watchtowers on masturbation etc.. when they get bored or wriggle too much.....out to the library!!!!

  is it child abuse to force kids to sit thru an adult meeting for 2 hours...and beat them when they can't?.

  I was just trying to think it's not just physical abuse but also mental abuse. I remember this old man told me he would leave messages around his house for his boy to see that said stuff like "flee from the devil and he will leave you alone", and I was thinking "well no wonder his boy is not interested"

  I don't know maybe it just me but I don't like people telling me anything, I feel like they think I am stupid.

  If I want to know something, I will figure it out. If I want to go to the meetings, I know where the KH is and I will go if I want...
