What's with JW's and X-mas lights?..........
by awildflower ini mean i remember growing up as a jw and then 15 baptized adults years, and every year all the jw's would say something to the effect, "lets go look at all the pretty lights", or they would tell their neighbors that they really liked their lights.
and i remember teaching my kids the same thing, that it's ok to look at the lights (but not ok to like anything else about x-mas, oh regrets!
) doesn't that seem weird or something?

Two books sent to me by xjw
by dogisgod ini just finished reading "i'm perfect, you're doomed" by kyria abrahams and am trying to hurry thru "the spanking room" by william coburn.
i would have laughed out loud at the first if it were not just an east coast version of my early years.
the second i don't think i can read too closely as it just goes over the same stuff only more of a guys view.

I read I'm Perfect, You're Doomed.
I've heard of the other, but haven't had the chance to read it (mainly because its not at my library)

I had my SAD (and what a sad day for me it was) maybe a little over a month ago... The concluding talk was given by some Bethel douche. His name is Don or John Larson / Larsen. His wife's name is Emma (maybe it was Enema?). Maybe someone here recognizes who that is?
Anyway, during his talk he said something along the lines of how opposers of the Watchtower don't have any facts or proof the Truth™ / organization is wrong. They oppose because of their own sinful, selfish, worldly desires and oppose because they want no part of the Truth™. Well, that set off my cult detecor and I decided to start recording his talk in case he said anything else that's taken verbatim from a list of what cults say.
He didn't really say anything else on that subject, but he did close the day out with prayer. In his prayer he prays we all remain obedient and submissive to the organization.
Here's the link to hear it on YouTube. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=MHMz4ys4GqY
I don't ever recall hearing that in a prayer before, and coming from a special speaker from Bethel, I found it really creepy.
Has anyone else ever heard a prayer like that? Maybe since I rarely go to any JW related BS these days, things like this jump out at me more now.

The user ExmormonFoundation on Youtube has a lot of excellent videos on Mormons. Here is the url for the channel: http://www.youtube.com/user/ExmormonFoundation
Also there is a great video (cut into I think around 12 videos) with Steven Hassan from the same user.
This is the first video: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Az4tE2eLoKc

Who Writes WT Study Articles?
by monkeyman inok, i have to admit that i thoroughly enjoyed the wt study yesterday nov 1 about adopting jesus' personality.. it was far from the ho hum studies that focuses on fs.. my question is..............who writes the wt study articles?
this one was definitely written by someone other than the last 50 or so articles.. so is there anyone out there who knows how these articles are submitted.
there is a famous article written back in the late 90's dealing with depression.

bought my first lottery ticket today
by John Doe inmy state now has a lottery, so i decided it was time to buy one.
i paid $2 for a powerball ticket, so now i need to figure out how to spend my winnings.
i've never even looked at lotteries before, but the woman at the counter was nice enough to explain the different ones to me.

My state has a state lottery and the Powerball. According to the Mega Millions website, states with Powerball will be getting Mega Millions soon and vise versa.
I bought my first lottery ticket maybe 3 weeks ago. My JW dad has played the lottery for years. Was caught by an elder's wife once, so the elders came over to talk to him. Since then he drives far enough out of town until that he feels comfortable no one will run into him. (I haven't gone to that extreme. I get them right in town).
I hope he never wins... He can't manage money and would end up in millions of debt. He says he'll donate a bunch of it to the WTS (freakin idiot). I guess that'd sooth his conscience for playing it all of these years. Then he says he'd help out brothers and sisters in need... the same idiots that he hides from when he buys the tickets because they'd turn him in. I'd probably be more inclined to use some of the money to run a nation wide Watchtower smear campaign in an attempt to hurt their membership base and finances, but I digress.
I think you are mistaken though... That 66 million dollar Powerball jackpot is mine on Wednesday!
(FYI, beseeching Satan for lottery winnings doesn't seem to work, at least not for me. Even if you bend over your bed, spread your cheeks and offer yourself to him. )

Who has never celebrated Halloween?
by asilentone ini have never celebrated halloween, i guess it is because i was raised that way..
-
JerkhovahsWitless
I've never celebrated it. I'm hoping in 1-2 years from now I'll be out of my current situation and able to. Out of all the holidays, Halloween was always the most appealing to me.
I'd probably do a different Halloween theme each year. When I do something fun, like have a party, I usually go all out, so I see myself doing the same with Halloween.
One year I may decorate my house based on vampires, another year a traditional haunted house, a mad scientist theme another year. I'd like to do something disturbingly different, perhaps one year have an Ed Gein theme, (just toss a few Fleshlight inserts in a box, call one mom, add salt and I've got myself a Halloween decoration). I wonder what the neighbors reactions would be the year I draw Satanic symbols all over the outside of my home with fake blood and blast Slayer from my open windows... It'd keep the Witlesses away for sure.

Jordan Maxwell mentions JWs
by cameo-d ini am not a fan of this guy.
i see many half-truths in his ramblings.. however, i did think it might be of interest to know that in this newly released video, he mentions the jws briefly.
he does not say watchtower; he specifically says jehovah's witnesses.. because this guy is so self consumed, i wouldn't put anyone through the torture of listening to the long winded video, so i will cut to the chase.. at 38:20 the interviewer asks a question....and you should start from there.

All hail Jordan Maxwell, the self-appointed Alien Ambassador! (I guess the aliens picked him because he resembles Jabba the Hutt)
I'm not a fan either. He did however get me interested in comparative religion.
He mentions JWs briefly in the video, The Naked Truth, and I heard him mention them another time I think... maybe it was that slideshow presentation of his on Google video?
I'm putting my money on the WT crumbling. If I'm wrong, well, I don't have any money to lose anyway
I tried to listen to him, but I can't take my eyes off his massive, flapping jowls. They are mesmerizing!
LOL!!

CO visit this week
by JerkhovahsWitless infor the first time, i didn't attend the meeting when the co came.
my family went, which i figured would lead to them being questioned about me.. i thought for sure the cultists would be knocking on my door with the fat old wind-bag co to "encourage" me.
unless they stopped by this week when no one was home, it looks like no one wants to save me from armageddon.
