Response to the atheist From Jim
by mouthy innow someone on jwn has indicated that he or she heard that i had died.
well, i fear that that might happen reasonably soon as i am getting long in the tooth, but as mark twain once said, the report of my death has been grossly exaggerated.. .
now on a side note to mr. natas and his atheist friends, let me say that i am well aware that religious persons of many kinds have done evil things, including those who claim to be christians.

Your worst field service experience.
by littlebird inmy worst field service experience was this.. i didn't have a car at the time and so a pioneer sister was picking me up of service every couple of days.
she was my partner and i got a door where the woman was clearly not interested.
as i am stepping away the pioneer sister starts in with all the objection stoppers.

People tend to get a little psycho don't they? Even though I can't stand the religion anymore, I still wouldn't treat people badly, but I would be firm, cause I don't want to leave the impression that I' m a return visit.

The good training from his parents was evident also in the case of Joseph. When imprisoned, he was courteous even to his fellow prisoners. (Gen. 40:8, 14)
Huh? Sometimes I think they make things up as they go along.

Are you a Christian? How often do you challenge your beliefs?
by cyberjesus inuntil 6 months ago, i had faith in jehovah, jesus and the bible.
i was not a jw ( i had been dfd 15 years ago) but i was planning on going back.
i questioned some basic beliefs on the wts and discovered i had been lied to for over 35 years.

I did challenge belief in God for several months after I left the Jw's. I concluded that I do believe. Now I challenge beliefs within Christianity. Am I a preterist or a futurist, pre-trib, mid trib or post trib. Right now Im a dontknowist.

Did you loathe going in field service, if so why?
by HappyGuy ini always felt like i was not a "spiritual" person because i loathed going in field service.
i'm not even sure why i loathed it.
i am very outgoing and can talk to anyone, anytime, about anything.

I couldn't stand it because of being pushed to return visit on people you know just took the magazines to get rid of you, the real reason you call back is because you hope the person will be half way decent to you and you have to get your time in. I could never picture the apostles going door to door with magazines either.

Is regularly texting/phoning someone (not your partner) cheating?
by sacdfan inhello - can i ask you all for your opinions?.
if your partner (husband/wife, gf/bf etc) was phoning and texting someone approx 20 times per day, would you find it unacceptable?
for example, if your wife was texting/phoning another brother (also married) 20 to 30 times a day, would you get suspicious?

I wouldn't find it acceptable when I was a witness, nor would I find it acceptable now.

New to this site....
by TanCatLuvr ini am so thrilled to find this forum.
it is such a relief to know that all of us 'apostates' are normal people who had the nerve to question what has been crammed down our throats.. i am 4th generation ex-jw with family members at bethel, doing missionary work, and pioneering.
even though i have been out for almost 20+ years, i still had guilt admitting to myself that this was a cult-like organization until just recently.
