if htere were anything i ever wanted it was to be like all the other kids i saw in my life...free to accept gifts, love and unconditional reasoning from adults...even as an adult this is all i rarely ask for...where is your family when it would be nice to have them?

would something please just take me home?.

I know what you mean. I consider myself VERY fortunate that I have my brother and sister and dad, but I still want my other brother and mom too. I don't know if I'll ever get past that. Like Jerry, I have pretty much cut them out of my life by making contact extremely limited and I don't seek them out. Most days I do just fine, but some days I cry too. Just know there are people that really do care about you. I don't know you very well, but I do read alot of your posts and I see a man who truly reaches out to others, especially to new ones on the board. It's not the same as your blood family, but I would love for you to join us "fuddie duddie, bean counting" folks for dinner some time. I cook a mean Italian meal.

I'm going through a separation/divorce...

i got served with papers last wednesday from my wife for a separation.

it includes her wanting me to leave the house and is full of a lot of hooey.

it should be interesting, but for the sake of discussion here, i was wondering if anyone has advice/experience in this area: what can i control as far as how much the kids are exposed to the witnesses?.

My ex who is a JW and I share custody of our son. You can't control what happens during their time with the kids when it comes to religion. Make sure you get as much visitation with them so you can expose them to other things besides the JW's. By not badmouthing the religion or mom, your good example will go a long way to show your kids that you are the one that is balanced.

I only ask my son alot of questions when it comes to the JW religion. Things like....is that resonable? Do you think it's ok for a religion to split up families? I have lots of friends over when he's home and he has come to realize that "worldly people" treat others better than the witnesses do.

My Story

ok so chevy asked me to put my story on here, a lot of you will probably find it boring but will post it anyway.

am now 24 and live in kent, england with my boyfriend dean, we are really happy together in fact i have never been so happy and we plan to marry later on this year.

i was brought up a jw from a baby by my mother, my father was never really bothered about it all and my mum fell away, divorced him and married another guy and then went back to the witnesses, he was not a witness and they met at my mums place of work, she was a dj for a local radio station and he was a chauffeur.

thats right, my baby asked me to be his wife on friday night.

it was our 1 year anniversary, we had booked into a motel with a spa bath and admist bubbles, i followed a trail of balloons to my ring.. it was all very romantic (and about time too seeing as he had the ring sitting in the draw for 2 months!!

hehehe).

Yah Elsewhere it is tooo friggen cold here. I'm stuck working from the house today although I guess I shouldn't complain. It's not too bad crunching numbers in a pair of sweats.

i need someplace to vent, so excuse me but i am very angry at the moment.

as most of you know, my father in law committed suicide last sunday (the 16th).

his death hit nina hard, but i've discovered this week that my sweet little kitten of a wife has the heart of a lion.

I am so sorry for your loss. I'm glad your father in law had "real" friends at the retirement home. When I was still in the borg, I was counciled one time for hugging a disfellowshipped person at their dad's funeral. I couldn't believe that it was not acceptable.
