before i begin let me just say that this is just a rambling from a tired and scared gal, who in her heart knows that it's all going to be just fine.

i just need to babble for a bit and get it out of my system.. as some of you know, i'll be moving to a new apartment on saturday.

this came about because where i'm currently living has raised my rent beyond my means.

For the love of a good animal

i just came back from nine weeks on the road and one of the things i do miss are my kitties!

my daughter calls, e-mails and writes me all the time when i'm away but the cats have a limited vocal range and are not big on writing!

but after they punish me for being away, any of you who have cats know what i am talking about, they warm up to me and it is nice.

My english bulldog gets in my suitcase when I get it out to travel. I made the mistake one time of packing and leaving my case open on the floor. When I got my black suit out at the hotel, there was white fur all over it. Got to love her though!!!!!

at 2:00am pacific time my son was awakened my his drill instructor, in the next 54 hours he will do a variety of team tasks, sleep 4 hours at the most and have two rations between he and his buddy.

he is in the cruicible, for the marine corp. he has to finish to graduate...so all prayers and good thoughts are appreciated.

Sometimes, it just ain't any fun...

i took my kids on a vacation to disney world...their dream vacation, actually, although it didn't turn out that way.

midway through we get a call that their grandmother (the real one, who was never a dub and who hasn't ever turned her back on the kids or on me even thru my divorce from her son, unlike my own jw mother) is in serious condition at the hospital.

we spent one of our 'vacation' days sitting in a hospital icu waiting room, timing our 15 minute visits so that we could see her, and throughout it all the kids were troopers.

I'm so sorry for the pain you guys are going through. I can understand your son's feelings. My grandfather died when I was younger and I just couldn't go see him either because I didn't want to remember him that way. It upset my grandmother but to this day I only have memories of him in the way he was when he was well and those are such good memories and are making me smile as I write this to you.

I'm glad you guys have this time to tell each other how you feel. Be strong for each other. Love you guys

Scuba Diving in Cozumel

last week megadude, roo and i went scuba diving in cozumel.

navigator joined us on the last day taking a break from his cruise.

we enjoyed it so much so i thought i would share just a little of it with you.

I know what you mean Big Tex. We were extremely careful to only drink bottled water. Some of us took extra precautions and took antibiotics while we were there and none of us got sick.

Is Having Kids Worth It?

ok, i'm a single female in her early 30s looking for someone to settle down with.

i'd like to have kids, but the trouble with dating guys who are over 30 is that by now most have a kid and/or have decided they don't want any/more.

so i am getting faced with the dilemma of maybe finding that someone special, but he may not want to have kids.

so i am getting faced with the dilemma of maybe finding that someone special, but he may not want to have kids.

Well for me, having a child changed my entire life and led to my leaving the JW's. I always wanted a child, but was not prepared for the love I would feel for my baby. As he neared the age of four I just couldn't endoctrinate him into the JW's and began to question everything. I didn't want to brainwash him into something unless I could be sure it was the right thing to do.

To make a long story short, it cost me a ten year marriage, and I became a single parent. Do I regret it????? Not for a minute. I have remarried and he is now a young teenager. Although he has a lot of contact with his JW dad, he can see the hipocracy of the org and I don't think he will pursue that path as he gets older.

While I know having children isn't for everyone and people shouldn't be pressured to have children when they don't really want them, I can only tell you that my experience has fulfilled a huge part of my life and I wouldn't want anyone to miss out on that. I hope you find the answers that you are looking for whether you pursue that path or not.
