Thank you RR for your clarification regarding C. Russell not being the founder of the Jehovah's Witnesses. You could probably make this statement a zillion times but it does not make a dent in folk's minds. He is destined to forever wear the mantle of "founder of the JW organization. " He would be dismayed (to put in mildly) by their practices and beliefs.

witness "poem" with scriptures sited... what would you say?
by New light for you ina dear friend, who found out i left 'the truth' sent me this poem, and was actually sweet about it and said that if i ever wanted to come back jehovah and the brothers and sisters would lovingly take me back and the angels would rejoice (after they put me thru hours of committee meetings for celebrating holidays and birthdays and then dfed me, but after that they'd rejoice).. anyway, reading the poem... made me remember (only left a year and a half ago) how great of an idea it all was.
wouldn't it have been great to be true instead of a whole elaberate freakin lie?
anyway.. whith all these "scriptures sited" how could you dispute it???

--Hi ontoyou: "You don't believe the bible if you celebrate holidays." Lets say you just received a birthday card from a neighbor who is grateful to you for your recent helpfulness to him/her. Or perhaps you put a few christmas lights on a little bush in front of your home. Are these things wrong? I am a "civilian." Never been a jw. I lurk on this discussion board trying to learn jw beliefs. Thanx.

does anyone know a good site or sites to go to that document basically the teachings of jws under ct russell then the changes joseph rutherford instilled in the belief system?
i'm going to try to go through all the changes in outline form.. thanks in advance for any help i can get!.

i know this is a "study brochure" for newly interested persons, but the sugar-coating and glossing over of history, facts, and some of the outright lies i've discovered in it are astounding.

What are their teachings about the resurrection of the dead. Can someone please elaborate. I am an "outsider" and have only shallow understanding of their beliefs........but this forum has been enligtening me.
