we are all set for a lovely xmas week and nice holiday, but this image is indellably printed in my brain and i cannot erase it.. .
it's from the bible teach book, chapter 16 para 11. i did that many bible studies and trained them how we need to make a stand for true worship and not ever return to pagan practices.. so now over this season of good will, and fun i have a literal bitter taste.. are you having flash backs?
how can we remove these images from our brain?
Well, the thing with Xmas is it's still just a human tradition like any other. One can choose to participate or not, regardless of what JWs teach about it. I personally, since I've very few memories of it in my life, choose not to participate, for the most part. I've gone to an office gift exchange once, but that's about it. It holds no meaning for me, right or wrong. Like with all the other holidays, it is essentially an alien culture to me.
Maybe that's the impact of mind control on me. The phobias are almost certainly still there. I don't involve myself in holidays or watch horror movies or use foul language (at least not anywhere but inside my head, except the PG mild language found in the original Star Wars) because of JW indoctrination. That's probably not even the half of it. There may be stuff I'm not even conscious of that can be attributed to that. Certainly fear/guilt associated with divorce was/is probably one of those things. Phobias about sex, parties, non-JWs, maybe even ex-JWs, too--all of that is probably there.
I just figure, I trimmed off as many irrational beliefs as I could and kept the ones I thought might protect me from self-destructing too much once I left the cult. Still didn't turn out well, but here we are.

Which "scholars" are informing their dogmatic certainty of other doctrines/teachings?
Even if scholars were dogmatic about something, if WT wanted to teach it, they would teach it and build as many arguments in support of it as they saw fit. They pick and choose when they decide to care about what scholars' views are.

i think this is the year they finally take that dog out back and shoot it - no partaker number.
but i've thought that for the last three years.
lol.
14,176. I'd like for someone to actually guess the correct number.

But seriously, this certainly highlights once more the absurdity of the grandiose claims the Governing Body makes about itself. So, not only did the faithful slave not known its own identity for nearly the past century (more, really), but they didn't know the proper/full/2.0 meaning of the divine name, either. If these basic things require updating, there is absolutely no basis to believe any of the other complex things were accurate, either. These are things that the channel of communication should logically be expected to know perfectly from the start.
So God's all like, I can't tell you who you are accurately; heck, I can't even tell you who I am correctly!
So this is like a 'hurry up and get this information out to update everyone' thing. This may perhaps be one of the most literal '1984' moments since they did something similar with the Revelation book. Or indeed with the New NWT itself. The past has been brought up to date. "B..B! B..B! B..B!"

OK what we need to do is have SD-7 write a complete new SD-7 version of the draw close to god book and send it out to dubs!
SD-7 time to go to work.
"(sigh) What do I look like, pest control?"

That's spectacular. Great stuff.

everywhere communist indoctrination was being pushed, in factories, offices, schools, hospitals, and in apartment blocks and streets.
political committees organized weekly meetings to teach communist doctrine.
the rectification movement was begun, designed to rectify wrong thinking and ways.
I'd highlight key phrases in that paragraph, but then I'd have to highlight the whole thing...
Funny how the organization talks about how it's 'progressive'...has weekly meetings to teach doctrine...tells people to clear out their old spiritual or worldly views...adopt their ideas....spy on each other and report comments critical of the leadership...
...But hey, that's just coincidence..."As a detective, we're not allowed to believe in coincidences."

Trying to trap him & make him look like a liar & an idiot is NOT a loving Christian thing to do. It is NOT something Jesus would do.
--Actually, that's exactly the kind of thing Jesus would do. He did just that to the Pharisees, when he asked them if the baptism of John was from heaven or men. He was trying to get them to admit the truth to themselves, but they evaded an honest answer...because they were trapped. It wasn't hate that made Jesus do that, it was a desire to uphold truth and expose self-righteous behavior on the part of those religious leaders.
This isn't the approach I would have taken, but then I've come to realize it's just not worth my time to do this sort of thing. I'd give this video a listen but I don't want to upset myself about it all. It just isn't healthy.

i thought the kingdom ministry feb 2014 had a couple interesting things in it:.
1. a short talk encouraging the jw sales force to publicize the jw.org website at every opportunity.. 2. do not put out bibles on your table displays keep them hidden underneath.
i thought they were so p-p-p-p-proud of their new nwt??.
Well, guess if you want a free Bible with no obligations attached, better stick with the Gideons...
