Your very welcome and I do like your style of writing... very talented and mysterious... but once you look deep into the meaning of every word it's so beautiful... even when you say "it is hoped" it makes me think there is more feelings. It reminds me that it's ok to look at the past but I can't forget about the future. I am emotional person sometimes and I know if I dwell on the past it really doesn't solve my future... I just need to look at it objectively and come to an understanding. Ahhh but I can still dream.

Well that's cool AllTimeJeff, I'll have to check out the book at the book store. I don't really want to sign up but I did check out a few links she had up... I like the part where the title says what started me thinking... Neat Quotes on there.
What Started Me Thinking

- “There is no duty we so much underrate as the duty of being happy.” Robert Louis Stevenson

Did you Exit the Witnesses Gradually - Or Exit Suddenly - Your Reasons ?
by flipper ini thought it would be good to discuss it to understand what caused some of us to exit suddenly, or some to exit gradually .. myself , i had been in 44 years , had mentally had doubts for years before exiting - but injustices by the elders and my doubts about the " generation " doctrine led me to exit suddenly one night before a meeting.
the elders pissed me off , i went to my seat, picked my books up and walked out - never going back.
so what is your story and reasons ?

What Happens After You Leave?
by Cold Steel ini'm not a witness, but i have to ask..... what happens after you leave?
do you turn against all religion or do you find another?
people say they're happy when they leave...that they feel free, but i'd hate to think that people give up on everything religious.. if you do stay religious, how many doctrines of the jws do you retain?

What happens after you leave? Do you turn against all religion or do you find another?
I like blondies statement: majority of ex-jws don't get involved again in an organized religion or choose one that is independent or separate for a larger group. Ex-jws are not clones.
People say they're happy when they leave...that they feel free, but I'd hate to think that people give up on everything religious.
For me I am new in freeing my mind and choose not to go back to JWs. I don't turn down all religions like I would have... I research my opitions, make comparisons, I also use my "perspective powers"... yes after being abused by the JW, it makes one not so eager to jump back into a organized religion. Kinda like marriage...
If you do stay religious, how many doctrines of the JWs do you retain? (I've never bought into the idea that man has no spirit, because the only real scripture people use to support it is in Ecclesiastes, which is not really an eschatological work, but a philosophic one?)
It depends on a person... I still believe in many of JWs doctrines but I still want to research it before I preach it to others. That is why it's freeing to know we can question it and really dig deep on the source. I believe we are not held liable on what we don't know or understand.
