Hi, I was wondering if any of you have any statistics when it comes to the percentage of JWs or ex witnesses reporting to suffer from mental illnesses? I have tried to google this but not got very far.

Quandry, I'm not really shunned as such but most definately the black sheep of the family, the outcast.
I live a clean life, have 3 children who I adore, never do anything that could really bring shame yet they treat me like a second class relative, for instance, if I were to knock at their door today I would be welcome, yet I have waited 2 years for a phone call, and even though my half sister lives just a mile up the road she never pops in to say hi.
This, I am aware, is getting off lightly, some of you are sure to have experienced much worse, as did my dad after he was disfellowshipped. And can I point out that the reason he was disfellowshipped was mainly due to rumour, don't think there was any hard evidence, not even a confession.
Betsy, I don't know anyone in London or Scotland, sorry, I attended meetings in the north and England and north Wales. But well done you for moving out to LA, very smart of you lol.

This seems to be happening a lot recently, it gives hope for poor little Madeleine McKanne, although sadly I'm quite aware that thousands of other children go missing and its not even commented on.

In my case Ellie is short for Elizabeth, but its generally short for Eleanor, I knew a few Americans who insisted on calling me Eli but I didn't mind, it beats Liz, which most Brits shorten Elizabeth to.

Thanks for the welcomes!
Will look out for those books thanks, I'm actually reading a good book at the moment, George Orwell's 1984, and finding it fascinating, sure its supposed to symbolize a totalitarian government but I can't help but see the Jehovahs Witness organisation in Big Brother!
