I'm not sure what that means: does that make sex between a 17- and a 18-year old a crime?

A friend of mine from Washington state's son was arrested on his 18th birthday for consensual sex with his girlfriend, 17. Statutory rape, didn't matter to them that he was not 18 at the time of the sexual contact. He is forever labeled a level 1 sex offender in the state because his girlfriend's mom didn't like him and called authorities. Girlfriend testified in his behalf, it didn't matter.

the years have pass and so has my age, so lately i have been thinking, should i add my daughter in.

since i have seen or talk to her.have not seen my grand-daughter the youngest.

the oldest i saw her over 10yrs ago..i feel my grand kids should know where they came from.. i do not have a lot to leave for my kids, i have four, the other three i have a good relationship...but.

I like the college fund too, its the one thing that might get your grandkids thinking for themselves. Make it so that the money can only go to tuition, tie it up to continued attendance. Might make all the difference in your grandkids escaping that ugly cult.

I've been single for three years now and truthfully these have been the happiest years of my life. Do I see myself with a companion again? Perhaps, but I'm not going to stress about it, because if the worst thing that can happen is me being by myself I'm pretty good with that. Everyone is different, but I think many people fear being alone. I agree with what Real Life said (welcome to JWN).

America's Most Wanted seeks fugitive hiding in JW community

from the tv show "america's most wanted" on saturday, sept 26: michael calhoun - 39 y/o white male, 6', 210 lbs - convicted of rape and the attempted murder of an elderly woman.

wanted for failing to register as a violent sexual predator in ashtabula county, ohio.

he has psoriasis, is believed to be dealing drugs, and could be hiding out in a jehovah's witness community (amw did not elaborate as to why he could be hiding amongst witnesses).

A lot of JWs of my generation (boomers) are pretty computer illiterate. Not to mention, the borg has scared them spitless of the internet. Those that do buck that system are normally younger. So there are a lot of JWs that won't see this. However that same thing isn't always true of the rest of the universe. So maybe this will be helpful for others who are just searching their browser and come across it.

The kicker is how long until big brother in NY sees it. They aren't worried about being internet savvy, as long as it benefits them. When they see they're losing their control they'll probably yank it.

soon the movie 2012 will be here with its incredible effects of the end of the world.

OMG someone at work was talking about this 2012 thing today. I said I spent my whole life afraid that the next day might bring the end of the world. Now I just feel like Woody Allen - "I'm not afraid of death, I just don't want to be there when it happens." Or put another way, very quick or in my sleep. One thing I refuse to do is worry about it. shit, we all have to go sometime.

How much time before U.S. persecution starts?

i was reading barbara anderson's recent entry on free minds, and it made me think--the society's recent maneuvers in real estate, moving things to canada, etc.

does this mean jws in the u.s. will be facing problems from the government soon?

if so, is anyone knowledgeable enough to give an educated guess as to how soon this might happen?.

Well let me know when it starts, I'll volunteer to help clap some of those elders in stocks, perhaps a few rounds on the stretcher, lmao. Make them go around town with a big A for azzhole on their forehead. Well ok, the nice ones can skate and the ones in hiding, but I don't know any of them.

Guess what I found in an old file cabinet in the Garage

a bunch of blank congregation checks from when i filled in as the account servant many years ago.

and, i can copy the po's signature pretty well - lol .

if it wasn't illegal i would make out $1.00 checks to the salvation army, catholic church, homeless shelter (then they would be giving to charity - oh my) .

Ok well there is another way to do something just as "evil" without having the illegality aspect. Make donations in the name of the local congregation of Jehovah's Witnesses, say to Planned Parenthood, to your local Gay and Lesbian group, to the Catholic Charities, you get the idea. Even for $5.00 they should send a thank you card. Or save it up for special occasions and go all out with $10.00 or $20.00. You just have to have the mailing address. Should be on the checks, lol.
