Can you type that in caps if possible? It's really difficult to read that in regular text format. If you put it in caps, and italicize it, it will be easier to read.

Depends on what side of the bed I wake up on. Some days I feel like being compassionate to my fellow man. Most days however, misanthropy runs through my veins. Many days I can honestly say I hate the human racem, hate everything about it. I can't recall who said it, but one philospher said, "The human race must be like some kind of mistake." I agree with that summation. Some days I wish I had no conscience and unlimited ammunition. Lately I'm wondering how much the JW upbringing has to do with this.

Blondie's Comments You Will Not Hear at the 07-11-10 WT Study (WOMEN SUBMIT)
by blondie incomments you will not hear at the 07-11-10 wt study (may 15, 2010, pages 12-16)(women submit).
jehovah has established the orderly sequence that the apostle paul mentioned when he wrote that "the head of every man is the christ" and "the head of the christ is god.
what man is their head?.

In the end though, if one is born into the JW religion, it wouldn't be the worst for women.
No, it wouldn't. You could have been born into Islam or Ultra Conservative Judaism. Or there's another flipside to this, you could have been a born-in male. You would be pressured constantly to perform. At least with being a JW woman, all you have to do is show up and look pretty.

Passion of the [Irony].
by confliction ini was just wondering.... why do we jw's make such a big deal about jesus dying on a pole, as opposed to a cross?.
the original word, albeit, can lean either way.
and seems in favor of a pole rather than a cross.

I think its as Ynot put it, the issue of idolatry, which is one of things I actually still agree with the WTS on. Somewhere down the line, the argument of what Jesus died on somehow surpassed the argument of whether or not its idolatry to use it in worship. I agree its kinda silly arguing back and forth about what device Jesus died on. The arguments on both sides whether it was a cross or an upright pole without a crossbeam are equally compelling, but its not really all that important of an issue to argue about. It's as silly as arguing whether Jesus was White or Black with wooly hair.

How many here have actually received a response from the WTS, either by phone or letter, regarding the 607/587 B.C.E. discrepancy?
by Crisis of Conscience ini recently called the service department about this.
first off, what i read in another post is correct.
the person you talk with will not give you their name.. i asked the question and the brother responds by saying that yes, they get that question all the time.. then he proceeds to tell me that i need to write in to the society with my question and they will give me plenty of information to back up their standing on it.. i told him that i searched the wl cdrom and found nothing, not even under questions from readers.

This might sound crazy, but I'm wondering if there are people on the Writing Department who see the lack of validity in 607. The reason I say that is, the new Jeremiah Book, has some pages, and questions that focus heavily on 607. One question goes, "Describe the Events of 607 B.C.E." On the pages in question, they have a chart that highlights 607. It's almost as if they're taunting their readers. For a while now, publications haven't mentioned 607 and I was under the impression that they'll just stop mentioning it and let it die. With this new book, that doesn't seem to be the case, unless...... and this might sound crazy, right up there with the goverment's black helicopters and men in white coats. But, I believe there are those on the writing department who purposely highlighted 607 in this fashion to stimulate research and conversation about 607 vs 587/586. Most Witnesses don't do proper research. Most will not pick up a history book, or an encyclopedia. Most nonWitnesses don't concern themselves about what happened between Jerusalem and Babylon. So for the most part, the average Witness will never come across anything that challenges 607. Even if they did read something in an encyclopedia that says at one point Babylon sacked Jerusalem in 586, the average Witness won't catch it. It would get missed like fine print on a credit card offer. I don't know when this new book will be considered for the Congregation Book Study, it might be a couple years. When it does happen, it may be an oppurtunity for the conscious class to expose this false teaching.

Did you ever go through a period of obsession with all things WT related upon your awakening?
by miseryloveselders inwhen i was a firm believer that the wts was god's chosen organization, i didn't really research too much.
never gave much thought to other opinions.
if the insight book said so, than it was factual.

SD-7, love the way you put that, as obsession and horror. This weak is gonna be rough on young males, and for that matter any male in the Hall who isn't doing enough brown nosing.

Yep....for me it lasted about a year, and even now its taking a bit of time to let it all go...Are you still an elder Misery?
Yeah unfortunately. Looks like its gonna be the way for a little while too. Fortunately we have enough Ministerial Servants and Elders that the work load is light enough where I don't feel as if I'm choking. You know initially I thought that was a blessing too?!?!? But since I've developed this obsession with proving beyond a doubtWT doctrine is wrong, sitting in the meetings is misery, pure misery!!! To hear the most senseless comments and repetative misapplication of scripture and man worship of the Slave, ahhh man it can drive you nuts!! I wish I could simply stop thinking about this stuff, but its impossible. All day long my thoughts are on WT doctrine and WT bull crap. It's like I'm going through puberty. Remember how when you were younger, you thought about girls all day? It's the same only is doctrinal and organizational matters. Spiritual OCD.

When I was a firm believer that the WTS was God's chosen organization, I didn't really research too much. Never gave much thought to other opinions. If the Insight Book said so, than it was factual. I only did heavier research when I had a talk, or when presented with a question in the ministry that I couldn't answer. Other than that, I've been on spiritual autopilot. My how things have changed since my initial doubts, and even more so since coming here and seeing many others have the same doubts. It's a surreal feeling when your doubt changes into a firm realization that you've been misled when confronted with solid evidence. Now that I'm past doubt that the WTS is full of it, I've become obsessed with their doctrines. I just got back from lunch, and I realized I was talking to myself. About what? About the Faithful & Discreet Slave and how it doesn't makes sense. Imagine that, I'm walking around downtown on my lunch break debating myself about the F&S class. What do I do after that? I post a thread here after browsing the most active thread topics. After getting home from the meeting last night, I cooked some dinner, and watched a little TV. Then I started browsing here looking for the latest rumor in WTville. I had trouble sleeping last night, so I got up and started studying the arguments in Carl Jonnson's Gentile Times book. This morning while in the shower, I'm thinking about the F&S class and Babylon the Great again. This can't be normal, can it? Lately my dad has been referring to the scripture on "those ruining the earth" Rev 11:18, so now that's circulating in my brain.
Did you experience similar? You ever go through a period of obsession with all things WT related upon developing apostate leanings? You ever just start thinking about WT related controversies while doing random things like shopping or cutting the grass? Has your Bible reading and study increased dramatically since awakening?
