yes-lotta nonsense; a self-proclaimed "slave class" that is not a prophet but like a prophet, giving so awfully embarrasing opinions that are supposed to be automatically acceted by all of us jws...pretenders...mistakes... and moves not "discreet" at all- like the ngo united nations membership they secretly had for awhile....terrible, isn't it?.
i mean, look at the inspiring example we have in churchianity: such wonderful dogma- such as the three sadist-gods who have been torturing billions of men, women, and children for thousands of years- with eternity to go...and god making the universe in 72 hours...and backing the wars of their governments- "god and country!
", as they send their men out to war, telling them they will be blessed for it, and so many more wonderful revelations: the rapture, once-saved, tithing, etc.

Awesome, thanks man.
I think I mentioned this once....
A couple of Brothers and me when we were in High School had some weed.... no Bowl.
Someone mentioned (probably me) Hey our Bibles look like rolling papers don't they???
Yes ... we did.
I think we used Obadiah (who will miss that page)
So I always keep an old Bible around ....just in case
I remember a rapper said in a rhyme when was in prison, inmates would roll weed using paper from the bible, and then say, "they've got the word in them."
I used to park my car in a somewhat rugged neighborhood not far from where I work. I did it to save money, as opposed to paying for using the parking garage. Like I said, this neighborhood is shady. Where I parked at, there is a field where the grass hadn't been cut in quite a long time. So the grass looked collectively like a corn field. I'm sure bodies have been dumped back there. One day I'm walking up the hill past this field to go to my car, and a tract blew out from the field. Instinctively I walked towards where it blew from. When I got to the spot, I saw an older Awake. So I stepped past a couple grass blades, and there in front of me, pile was years worth of WT related literature. There was a hard cover Revelation book. I opened it up, and read the name, and its someone I know. I know their whole family, and have seen them since coming across the literature. I always wanted to ask them why'd they dump all their literature in a field where mafiosos and gangbangers dump bodies?
When I lived at home, occasionaly I had magazines suffocating my room. I would throw a huge black Hefty bag worth of that stuff away. Part of it was I always had every intention on increasing my time. Often I would increase, and hence need extra magazines. Come Winter and Summer, the weather was too extreme to spend that much time in field circus. Plus it took forever for the Magazine Servant to adjust the total magazines recieved to the congregation based on publishers altering their needs by the season. So I hated bothering him and I'd keep getting the same amount of magazines. Sometimes I left old mags in laundry mats, or in Not-At-Homes. Every now and then though, those mags became too much, and you have to pitch em.

Makes you wonder if China's birth limit laws have some practicality.
jw serving elders ... did any of you have to handle the part at the sm this week on why jehovah's witnesses are not a false prophet?.
this part made me livid.
our most corporate elder handled this part and i felt my self wanting to refute everything he said.
I didn't even get to pay attention to that part. I was out in the lobby talking with an older sister. I really wanted to hear how the brother doing that part was going to do it. He had a couple demos that I heard faintly, because again this sister was in my ear.
What I'm more curious about than anything, is what generated this part on the Service Meeting? It stood out like a sore thumb considering whats typically on the agenda for service meetings. It seemed like a part that would have been better served as a special needs talk, or even a letter read by the PO as was done when the child abuse scandal hit the media several years ago. It just seemed somewhat out of place for the service meeting IMO.
today is kim clijsters' birthday and a month ago she announced her retirement from tennis.
i remember the week she was born very well.
i have watched tennis since the late '70s, and i remember when billie jean king was a star, when jimmy connors was a hot new thing, and when "virginia slims" matches were shown on wtbs.
bumping this thread out of respect for JWN's scholar.....Leolaia.
Clijsters is kicking fanny and taking names too.
us pastor says will burn koran despite petraeus concernshttp://news.yahoo.com/s/afp/20100907/pl_afp/afghanistanunrestusreligionislampastor.
tue sep 7, 9:21 am et end .byline washington (afp) the pastor of a small florida church said tuesday he will go ahead with his plans to hold a koran burning this week, despite warnings by the us commander of the afghan war of violent reactions in the islamic world.terry jones, who heads the dove world outreach center in gainesville florida, said he had given "serious" consideration to the concerns expressed by general david petraeus over plans to torch a koran to mark the ninth anniversary of the september 11 terror attacks, but said he would proceed anyway.. "we are taking the general's words very serious.
we are continuing to pray about the action on september 11th," he said.. nevertheless, he said "we have firmly made up our mind" to go ahead with burning the muslim holy book.. "i mean, how long, when does america stand for truth?
I wish the press would have left this story alone. Noone would be paying this idiot any attention. But, I'm afraid of the repercussions this is going to have, especially for the military. Horrible.
This has been pretty much my thought on this whole story. A whole hey to do over nothing. Not to judge a book by its cover, but you can look at that preacher and see the man is ignorant, even by Florida fundemantalist standards. Mainstream media has always been flaky, and questionable, but the amount of attention they've give this guy and his church is ridiculous. There shouldn't have ever been a story abou this. Its not newsworthy. It's not even worth debate. Of all the things the media could cover, this guy? One of Tiger's mistresses would be more enlightening.
