  To Christmas or Not to Christmas (inspired by Watersprout's DA thread)

  my wife and kid want to do christmas but i don't.

  i am not against it but i have no reason to celebrate the holiday.

  i'll get the kid some presents, and maybe my wife, but is that alone really "celebrating christmas?

  This issue is a perfect example of yet another wonderful thing that Watchtower has ruined for millions.

  No disrespect to you LWT, but when I read this LOL because it came off like your the cute little kid trying to convince us Grinches to find joy in Christmas. You might be right about the Watchtower ruining it. At the same time though, I feel they did me a favor. Screw that holday, and screw all the other holidays too. Its money that I can keep in my pocket. Its some days off from work. I don't have to go to the mall or department stores and be around retarded soccor moms, bad granny drivers, and all the other ilk associated with holidays. Its a beautiful thing to not celebrate jack shyt at times.

  I totally understand how a person who has never eaten bacon wouldn't give a flip about bacon, nor would he miss bacon if bacon disappeared tomorrow.

  I totally understand how a person who has never owned a DVR wouldn't give a flip about DVRs, nor would he miss DVRs if they disappeared tomorrow.

  I totally understand how a person who has never owned an iPhone wouldn't give a flip about iPhones, nor would he miss iPhones if they disappeared tomorrow.

  Its still a stupid holiday. Just another pipe dream right up there with the people interviewed at the assembly looking forward to the day they get to play with the animals in perfect health in the new system.

  the person on the phone asked me if i was serious about my letter of disassociation and if i knew what that implied.

  Being a born in, I've never celebrated it. Being honest though its one of the few positive things about being a JW in my opinion. The only thing good I can say about Christmas is that people's attitudes are different around that time of the year. People are a little happier. I'm sort of a misanthrope so I view it all with contempt. I ever get out of this cancer with or without fallout, only thing I'll be thankful for around holiday time is the days off.

  walking ahead of me is this woman with a really nice butt in really tight jeans, small waist, nice hair.

  (yes, guys, even us women notice other women's butts:-) she stops at the dairy section, turns around and i swear she is 60 if not older!

  Nothing wrong with not being convinced either way, that shows you're thinking. I'm in the same position as you to some degree. I'm still debating, researching, and putting it all together. Its enough to drive ya crazy somedays.
