The only reason people leave the organisation is because their is a lack of love .. Leaving because of doctrine wouldnt be possible if their was love.

can anyone help me with a quote from a publication studied in '09 that had a box that said jws leave over selfish reasons but not over doctrine?
i think it was studied in the bs but i can't find it and i already tried the search feature.
i remember someone posted about it at the time it was studied.

although a cult, jehovah's witnesses should not be underestimated as to their smarts.
sometimes, exiting jw's, due to indoctrination, feel a lot of guilt for leaving.
of course, the governing body wouldn't have it any other way.. upon leaving, many for the first time feel a freedom to express themselves, which is as it should be.
Hi Jeff
I was an expert at advertising telephone sales. It always amazed me managing directors could be suckerd to part with company money with lines such as.
A. Do you have the capacity to handle addittional enquiries?
B. Are you aware of the potential that exists......
These so called Sensible business men parted with their company money based on the power of the spoken word. This led them into hasty conclusions. And they didnt even bother to have an opinion AS LONG as the pitch was FAULTLESS.
Jeff that said I do not agree that in todays world its all about the louder argument. I think in all walks of life its surprising how many people have more mature and adult considerations than to even get into a discussion with such people.
Iam sorry that I needed to waste so many years making money, only to find the security money gave was the strength to live as I wanted to without it. Then again I wasted a lot of years as a witness only to find what I was looking for was outside.

Hi Alltimejeff.
Since leaving the witnesses I have come to really like a good argument.
-I wish I had recorded some telephone conversations I had with elders .I really put them in their place. I got them to admit to me they new it was all b...s... You see Jeff its great to argue when you have the stuff to back your argument up.

i knew some elders that were very reluctant to go after certain people because those people knew little secrets that they kept to themselves.. many bethelites i knew were huge drinkers.
there was kind of an unwritten pact that if you were cool with it, you were part of the "in" group= you would get "privileges" and bigshots would be your "friends".. did you ever have something over another witness?
?.

When I discoverd I was living a lie, I confranted many witnesses of all standings in the congregation-I got acknowledgement from so many (Even If only facial expressions) that they new it was a lie..... The Irony is Iam the APOSTATE and the dirt.

I had a progressive study with a lady who was a member of the worldwide dhurch of God. Once some elders from her church were at her her home helping decorate. They never interfeared with the ladies study.
As her study progressed and she came to meatings she invited many members of the congregation over for tea and coffee. She had also invited members from the world wide church of God. It was so funny as she was also playing christian music. Most of the witnesses she invited were out the door before they were in.
I remember later at the kingdom Hall one of the elders commented to me "I thought she was stronger in the truth than that". He then turned on me and walked away in discust.

i spend too much time here goofing off when i should be working.
i no longer read doctrine threads or much of anything in the way of jw issues.
anyone else with similar thoughts?.
I come to the board because many posts and topics are educational and thought provoking. I do not associate the board with the Jehovers Witness Organisation. But I do think ex-witnesses have the ability to question and debate. And as long as I continue having my mind open to new ideas and viewpoints I will continue to use the sight.
