Blood Transfusions 101 for JW's
by moshe inblood transfusions 101 for jw's-.
a blood transfusion will not save the life of a starving man = a blood transfusion is not food = a blood transfusion does not violate the ot law given by god to the jews to, "not eat blood" and that was later reiterated by the jewish christians to the gentile christians = the watchtower no-blood transfusion doctrine is a manmade abomination that kills innocent people = the watchtower society is guilty of promoting manslaughter.. .

I'm Re-Naming Myself as The New Kool-Aid Man. Also in this issue: Obeying the Faithful Slave and 'the Mighty God'
by sd-7 in" "ooooh yeah!!".
it is unavoidable that a name as cool as kool-aid man would face a challenge.
but is this a challenge?

"Secret Watchtower" - No, there is NO Secret Watchtower
by RubaDub inso as not to hijack other threads, i still can't understand why people keep referring to the new, "members only" watchtower as "secret?".
if you go to the meeting, you will get a copy.
if you have a family member, you can get a copy.

You all got me curious what is actually contained in these "secret" study editions of the Watchtower. My wife is very careless about where she places her material so I am sure I can easily get a copy.
Oh well, no one outside of the organization really cares about it anyway. They don't even care about the ones being distributed door to door, let alone the secret study edition. To most people, it is all trash anyway. It may have an interesting article in it on occasion but most of the time it is just plain trash.

I've actual heard of JWS say that , well even if the organization is wrong on this at least the individual has a hope of resurrection to look forward to. TRUE
I personally find it difficult to accept that if the society is wrong on something that one can easily look up facts to disprove that the society should be trusted on spiritual matters as well. Particularly when the WTS is not willing to modify its stand in light of the evidence.

zombie dub:
To put it in a way that a JW elder put it to me, "We must take the whole Bible into account." If you take the whole Bible into account, then it clearly speaks of eating blood, not infusing it into your viens.
You can also point out that even the WT says that a blood transfusion is not eating blood but it is simply more like an organ transplant. They allow organ transplants, case closed.
The whole blood is diseased thing that the push is simply a smoke screen. I can get a disease accepting blood fractions (which they allow) and other medicines based off of body fluids of humans and animals. The other smoke screen, the whole we should not accept blood because it can go bad, does not hold much water when you take into account the fact that other medicines can also go bad.
Just smoke and mirrors aimed at keeping the dubs in-line and protecting the WTS from bearing any liability for their blood guilt.

So simple.
So basic.
So true.
And yet so misunderstood.
I've researched the Bible on the whole issue of blood. One thing I will say is that the Internet makes an excellent concordance for looking up where the word blood is found in the bible. I will publish my results on this thread.

Question for Bethelites and former Bethelites
by garyneal inaccording to paul blizzard, there were a lot of drunken parties and a lot of drinking at bethel back when he was a bethelite around the 1970's or 1980's (http://www.watchthetower.com/).
out of curiosity, does this stuff still go on today?
for any of the more recent bethelites, can you describe what your experience was like serving in bethel?.

What, nothing? Oh well, Bethel must be pretty boring after all or pretty secretive.

Thank you Blondie,
Since my wife's meetings are now in the same time slot as regular church hours for me, I don't go to the meetings with my wife now. I did ask her what did they talk about and what the study was about. She said that it was about prayer and gave examples. I asked what examples and she said, people in the Bible. Then I just said, "Well, can't find better examples than that," and left it alone.
After almost six months of my questioning and challenging WT doctrines, I figure right now it is just best to let it go. I've unfortunately given her persecution complex too much fat to chew.

DF'ed JW dies, family regrets shunning
by MinisterAmos inthe wife's aunt was df'ed right after the 1975 fiasco for getting married in a catholic church.
pretty harsh wouldn't you say?
anyway, her hard-core niece , my wifes' cousin patty, as well as many other loyal dubs followed doctrine and refused to have contact with her other than to urge her to return to the dubs after every wt meeting that told them to "reach out" to the dfed ones.

Life is too short, that is why I don't hold to the dogmatic principles of an organized religion. My wife refers to my ideals as gary-isms. I guess as long as those gary-isms show me how to show true christian love, I'll hang on to my gary-isms.
