Is Reform inevitable for Watchtower
by Truthexplorer ingiven that it is highly likely that things are going to change in relation to watchtowers policy on safeguarding of children and vulnerable adults in australia (re australian royal commission), and england and wales (re charity commission).
could this be the start to reforming the watchtower organisation.
albeit, they are being forced to change their safeguarding policy by the laws of the land, but it may set a precedent.

Given that it is highly likely that things are going to change in relation to Watchtowers policy on safeguarding of children and vulnerable adults in Australia (re Australian Royal commission), and England and Wales (re charity commission). Could this be the start to reforming the Watchtower organisation. Albeit, they are being FORCED to change their safeguarding policy by the laws of the land, but it may set a precedent. Using the laws of the land could also help bring about needed change in regards to choices in medical care; for example not allowing religious bodies interfere in matters such as the blood issue; but rather leaving it to individual conscience/choice without fear of punishment. The shunning policy could also be tackled using the laws of the land, using legislation such as the human rights act etc; To have the freedom to change your religion or to simply have the freedom to 'officially' resign from a religious organisation/body without the extreme punishment of being shunned by family and friends. The ball is now most definately rolling. The Governing Body and their legal team need to go with it and bring about reform; otherwise they most certainly WILL continue to publically undergo more embarrassment of having to make the necessary changes! -

Oh btw, like crazy guy said, for many, it has become more of a social thing than a religion thing for both of us. She is very popular among the sisters and has a very large circle of friends. -

Hi goingthruthemotions, My wife (a born in) up until fairly recently has buried her head in the sand every time I raised an issue about the WPS (Watchtower Publishing Company). Recently however, although she will always be in as it were, she is beginning to see the wood from the trees. Something happened that deeply angered her and she wanted to speak to the elders about it. I had to hold her back, pointing out the fact that having read threw the elders manual and branch guidelines, she would be 'watched' as potentially viewed as disrupting the peace of the Congregation. There is much more to this I could go into, but I think she is slowly beginning to awaken. -

NEW BLOOD CARD w/ FORCED COMPLIANCE also LEGALISM
by apocalypse ini have looked around and i don't see this covered, so i am starting a thread.. 1) the new "blood card" goes beyond being just a "blood card".. 2) a new edict concerning compliance.. pay attention to the changes.. first, the new card is termed "advance decision to refuse specified medical treatment".
the big change with the card itself is that it includes an 'override' of your "power of attorney".
this is huge.

I read through this entire thread and many good points have been made. This thread should be kept active over this period to help highlight this burning issue that is worrying a lot of people right now. Someone already mentioned how the HLC tried to get involved in their upcoming surgery. In my example, I kept my operation a number of years back very quiet till a couple of days before; and down played the size of my op. 1 day after my op, a HLC member had 'heard'. I was in for an operation and came to visit me. I couldn't believe it. As a matter of fact , I actually refused blood at the time. So my advice is not to let on that you are having surgery beforehand or at least not for a day or 2 anyway. That keeps the HLC from interfering. -

The fact you can't question 'anything'; The control they exert over people's lives; Their extreme shunning policy; the blood issue; their arrogance in refusing to be open with the media, and police when it comes to child abuse cases; their stubbornness and dogmatic approach to everything. I could go on -

Evolution is a Fact #34 - Hiccups and Tadpoles
by cofty inhiccups are a weird phenomena.
they are a combination of two involuntary actions - firstly a rapid inhalation of breath followed 35 milliseconds later by the glottis at the back of the throat suddenly closing off our airway.. our normal breathing is controlled by a "central pattern generator" in a small region of the brain stem close to the boundary with the spinal cord.
a signal is sent along the vagus and phrenic nerves resulting in a rhythmic contraction of muscles in chest, diaphragm and throat.. these nerves branch off right at the top of the spinal cord and follow a convoluted path through the chest cavity.

Hey Clearview
I have attached this comical you tube link that gives a fairly reasonable explanation as to why the moon appears upside down in the southern hemisphere from a flat earth perspective. Albeit the guy looks a bit crazy and uses the F word a couple of times, his explanation does make a bit of sense.

Also here is another video explaining a possible theory as to how the tides work from a flat earth perspective

clear view - I am sure the answers to those questions are out there somewhere. I don't know the answers to those questions, but will do research into them. Thanks for bringing to my attention. I would say however that the flight paths are quite fascinating. On a globe earth, they make no sense whatsoever. On a flat earth map, they make whole lot of sense. Also the united nations use a flat earth flag. Why do they do that. quite strange.
