Awake magazine 1973 The Dangers of playing Chess!! Why it's Evil.

but in some homes tensions linger long after checkmate.
chess has been a game of war since it originated...a play substitute for the art of war....a danger of stirring up competition with one another even developing hostility towards another, something the bible warns christians to avoid doing...what effect does chess have upon one?

It's no coincidence that this article appeared in 1973, when US interest in chess was growing after Bobby Fischer won the FIDE world championship. They had to counteract his role model, leading kids to spend so many hours studying and playing chess. Good Witness children should have been warning of the impending tribulation just two years away, not pursuing worldly competitions!

Moral Dilemma
by Mattieu inexcuse me so called holy spirit directed governing body; what do you do when you discover that a long term hospital liaison committee elder who gives talks at all1 day assemblies, 2 day assemblies & district assemblies and is quite prominent n the victorian/nsw circuit, is addicted to pornography, particularly under age and bestiality porno?
and oh, if you have print outs of his internet log ins and internet history fully detailing his log ins from his work computer???
and im not talking breach of privacy, im talking his breach of work usage of computers, of which im in charge of the it.

Do what is appropriate under local laws and company policies. Granted, you are in Australia where the laws will differ from ours...
In the US: (1) possessing "underage", i.e. child, pornography is a crime; (2) it would be appropriate for the employer to discipline (suspend or fire) an employee for policy violations, assuming there is a business-use-only policy for company equipment and internet usage, (3) the employer should present evidence of criminal acts to the police (you said that as part of your duties, you have legitimate access to what you found), because (4) knowingly witholding evidence of criminal activity from the authorities may make the company--and you!--liable for enabling the criminal acts to continue.
Give your findings to the company management, so they can take appropriate action. Forget about Bethel and the branches, it's time for this hypocrite to "Render unto to Caesar"!

i am an emotional guy too so i can kind of relate to why he left.. but, you gotta get thick skin on the forum.

There was a noticable change of attitude after he left briefly and came back, before he left permanently. I want to think that change is because of the family situation, but as Shamus and others have said, we just don't know for sure. But that's no excuse for taking advantage of somebody who was honestly trying to help him.

yes, brave rutherford tells "the enemy", those nasty mean gangsters, they ought not to delay any longer but should close their operations even right now.. .
rutherford makes it clear that theres no room in gods kingdom for deceivers, extortionists and organizations that can only survive by blatantly and regularly threatening to make parents childless and/or threatening parents to make their kids orphans and that any day real soon now.. .

WTS ADVICE FOR YOUNG WOMEN WANTING TO MARRY

the upside of this approach is that deborah is a real woman and will be able to give you girls proper advice.. the downside is that you will either need to first find a top rate medium (shes been dead quite a while) or wait for rutherfords god to bring her back from the dead (which rutherford maintains will happen any day real soon now if not even before the convention ends).. you will easily recognise her as rutherford has thoughtfully printed a picture of her in the new and bang up to date children book.. unfortunately if you dont live in the usa you will need to telephone her, which thankfully has recently been invented.
expect to hang on the line a while as she will be very busy playing her agony aunt role for so many jws worldwide all seeking her advice, but rutherford says that it will be well worth the wait.. .
