years (many decades) ago, most jws knew what their religion taught.
they could go toe to toe with a minister or priest and make some good points.. i believe today's witness knows little about most of the convoluted teachings and revisions of the "truth".
yesteryear's witnesses got a 9/10.
I think that, like their knowledge of the Bible, the average Witness knows a few things by heart--and forgets about the rest (if they ever heard about it in the first place). But that part they do know, man, they won't ever stop telling you about it! Being extremely vocal can create the illusion that you actually have much to say.
So I give the average Witness a 3.
there's been plenty over the last five decades .

man im so drained right now and tired i cant say a whole lot.. but you know, i was thinking about going back to them and just to see a bit more about it all.. i dont know to be very honest with you if its thr right thing to do or not on a personal level.. .
i guess i need to mull things over.. .
any suggestions from previous jw's would be awesome for me.
The question I ask is why are you considering going back, what do you expect to happen if you do?
If you expect joining the Watchtower (or any other religion) to be the elixir that solves life's problems, I think you'll be disappointed later on. After the initial enchantment with the new experience wears off, it needs to continue working on a day to day, long term basis.
On the other hand, opting for a religious affiliation because it fits you is like marriage to a spouse who is complementary to you, and you to them. It strengthens and enhances the persons you already are, just as you do for them. It's about each party actively benefitting the other, not mere hope that being with them will do something for you.
So, before you make that committment, examine the situation carefully:

Like the majority of posters on this thread, my choice is not the Watchtower organization.
bit of background info..... we have a neighbour who is a complete psychopath, she has tried to get us evicted, turned neighbours against us, bad mouthed us to our visitors.. last year our dog who is a jack/staff and is very healthy started to go downhill.... lethergy, depression, vomiting bile, coughing.
we took her to the vets who ran loads of tests on organ failure, cancer etc and they all came back clear.
he repeatedly asked us if she could have eaten anything.
Do listen to Shelby: until you have some real evidence, all you have are suspicions (reasonable ones, but still just suspicions). Until you collect something suspicious in the yard, suspicion is all it is. Even if you do find something, was it the neighbor or somebody else who put it there? I'm thinking a motion-activated wildlife camera (discretely hidden) would help. Or a very obvious security camera (even a realistic fake camera can be a deterrent).
Don't overlook the grass, especially if you (or the lawn service) use fertilizers or garden chemicals--even "natural" or "organic" kinds. What's safe to walk on and sit on may not be safe for the dog to eat.

Please remember that our little friends in fur coats need lots of water & some shade if no AC can be shared. Also, when walking them, remember their pads are very sensitive to heat and can get burned on hot pavement.
yes, keep the water dish filled. A small wading pool helps too, so they can dip hot paws and bodies in the water.
