Post 6: My brother turns on me now - Possible Legal advice

this is a letter i received today with my brother turning on me based on something that was told to him by my crazy mother.

he works for me, yet has not spoken a word to me in months because he is a self-righteous little dick.. .

what i would like to know from someone who knows the law, is it possible i can sue him if he pressures people to not work with me because of my religious beliefs????

I'd call that a letter of resignation. Prepare his final payroll check, and get back any company-owned property, computer files, keys, etc. that he might have. [I am not a lawyer, nor do I pretend to be one on internet forums. Before you consider suing him, get professional advice from a lawyer qualified to practice employment law where you do business.]

Breastfeeding in Bathrooms...

the natick, ma assemble hall used to have it's own room for breastfeeding mothers.

they changed this room to the accounting room or something like that and now have seats available for breastfeeding inside the bathroom.. there is one other small room available for breastfeeding but they close that off when the baptism is going on.

needless to say, i used to get so pissed off that they actually wanted me to breastfeed in the bathroom that i would threaten to a brother that i would take my boob out in front of everybody and that is there problem because breastfeeding in a bathroom is unsanitary.. one year they put me in some backroom.

It's amazing how they treat people, especially mothers to be and nursing mums or any parents with small children.

I'm not sure which is more amazing: that he would tell a third-trimester pregant woman she couldn't sit in a chair or ride the elevator, or that he lived to tell about it. Just speculating, I doubt the hall monitor you encountered was married--husbands learn quickly to not do such things, or they won't be a husband for long!

Relief Work and $$$

was just talking to a jw who just got back from oklahoma doing relief work for jws who had their homes damaged.

i didn't know this, but he said that the process goes like this.

the homeowner usually has a payout from the insurance company in hand.

if you have to pay ... well whats the difference between the RBC and any other worldly building company?

The "worldly" building company is (at least, should be) a licensed, insured contractor. They will pull the required permits, pass the inspections, and there is somebody to stand behind the work.

If a volunteer gets hurt on the job, who is responsible? If there is no insured contractor involved, I doubt there would be workman's compensation coverage.

Who has had their District Convention seats stolen by other Witnesses?

over the years i have had to deal with this problem personally and as a attendant covering my section at various convention centers.

i had people who were suppose to be decent jehovah witnesses pick up all the books, bags and coolers belonging to brothers and sisters who arrived at the appropriate time and picked them up and dumped them all at the end of the seating row.

so here is what goes down, the sister runs up to me panicking and saying "dear brother, i had all those seats reserved for my family and now look!

Merrimack New Hampshire KH Project denied credit by WT seeks $ from others

the merrimack congregation in nh is seeking to buy land and build a new kh, the nh rbc has plans to build a $750,000 (that's right a three quarter million kh).

"the branch" has wanted to build a kh between the cities of concord and manchester nh for quite a few years now.

unfortunately the wt has looked into their resources, local bank account is over $100,000, and they can contribute $2,000 monthly towards a mortgage.

So, the branch expects a congregation to subsidize an assembly hall as well as build their own hall? That explains the higher price, and also the three-times-bigger parking lot that another poster mentioned. If true, it seems to me that the local members are getting a very bad deal.

I think human sacrifice is the term you're looking for.

BTW, I carry a blood card--a blood donor card! If you're eligible to donate, you should have one too. Donating blood is a positive way of saying "No!" to the Watchtower's dangerous teachings.

I just want a divorce!

hi there, this is my first post, but i've been buzzing around this site for years.. i got married at 18, hubby was 20, i was a regular pioneer and we were talking about serving in bethel.

fast forward - i left in 2004 after a 5 year battle with my conscience, family and friends who kept insisting that i was just "weak and needed to have another bible study".

however hubby and i stayed together although it was kinda on the understanding that we would just not talk about it.

Both. It is a "JW Thing" to withdraw from a "weak one", apostate, or non-believer as a way to make them choose between being in the organization and loss of loved ones. It is pig-headed to not cooperate with bringing to an official end to what has become a marriage in name only. If he was not being pig-headed, he would speak to you, seek professionkl counseling, etc., not withdraw his affection and attention.

Laws vary from place to place. You should seek competent local advice; what applies where I live may not be allowed where you are.

is it possible to be friends with a woman, text her, call her, etc and not be physically attracted to her?.

Much depends on your mind-set and motivation, and what you mean by "attracted to". Many men, myself included, have worked with attractive members of the fairer sex for decades without going astray. But if trouble is what you're looking for, you will find it. For your own answer, look in your own heart!
