I'd bet that they have ongoing relationships with "expert witnesses" and a file of background documents ready to use for filing cases against the WTBTS. Having done the research once, preparing another case for a client with similar claims takes less time, and they have presumably found an effective strategy to settle these cases.

TV commercial seen in the United States, from a Law firm "Asking if you were ever sexually abused by JEHOVAHS WITNESSES, please call".
by Dunedain inok, so i don't know if this is "old news", and if this has been seen, and or mentioned already.
if it was, i do apologize, but i feel i have to mention what has been seen on tv, within the past 24 hours.. first off, i would like to say that i did not personally see this commercial.
however, it was seen by someone that i can verify 100% is telling the truth, as it was my own father who saw it.

Which bible translation do you think is best and most acurate?
by NikL infor those that still care to read the bible of course.
those that don't, please keep the snarky comments to yourselves :-).
i am assuming nwt is not very popular?.

"Best" and "Most Accurate" are not necessarily equivalent. The Bible is not a text book, not all in a single literary style, not a product of any single cultural era, and not even written in a single language (let alone a single dialect of the language).
Literal, word-for-word "formal equivalence"" translations may be technically accurate in a scholarly sense, but the thought for thought "dynamic equivalence" versions make better sense of ancient idioms that are foreign to modern ears. Much was originally verse, to be recited as poetry or sung aloud. Trying to accomplish all these goals in a translation is, needless to say, very difficult. My own preference is the original (1966) Jerusalem Bible, followed by NRSV. The New Jerusalem Bible is OK, but is not of the same literary excellence as the original. I understand the CTS New Catholic Bible uses the 1966 text, except for changing "Yahweh" to "Lord" (required for readings used in Catholic worship services) and using a different translation of the Psalms; I have never read this one myself.

Will Donald Trump Be Impeached Before His Term Ends?
by Brokeback Watchtower ini'm thinking his willful failure to be briefed by the cia about russian election tampering and not understanding diplomatic protocall.
making off handed statements without proper research about the mater.
he's an outsider when it comes to running the government that will make big mistakes at every turn because he seems clueless when it comes to running a government.. http://www.huffingtonpost.com/entry/michael-moore-predicts-trump-impeach-resign_us_58261464e4b0c4b63b0c6dee.

Making off handed statements without proper research about the mater.I doubt this rises to the level of "high crimes and misdemeanors" constituting grounds for impeachment. It takes more than boorish behavior to be given the boot. He also has an anti-impeachment insurance policy: Pence.
I think it's more likely he will be frustrated and ineffective, having alienated all the Democrats and many influential Republicans in Congress. Pointing a finger and saying "You're Fired!" isn't the way it works in the halls of government.

Just tell them about Sparlock, the Warrior Wizard. Disney's corporate policy may tolerate recruiters, but competitors are another story!

5 Ways to Improve Your Online Security
by Simon inlet's face it, we're all connected now.

i do no online banking. very secure method
That means there is waste paper that can be used to create an online account for you, that you would not know about. Be sure to cross-cut shred EVERYTHING with the account number and other identifying information. Dumpster diving is a time-honored tactic of spies, thieves, and snoops. Even in the internet age, some folks are still doing literal dirty work to get their hands on your data.

The advice used to be not to write down your password and also to change them regularly. This kind of forced people into using weak passwords. It's better to have a crazy complex password and have it printed out and kept somewhere safe. The risk of being compromised electronically is way higher than someone finding a piece of paper stuffed in a draw in your house.
Yes, that's why companies who enforce every 30 days password changes often are compromised by attackers trying variations of "20.deC16" (unless December2016 gets past the password checker software, which means the checker is so pathetically weak that it's a security flaw in its own right). Just be sure to hide the paper well, so the Cubicle Cops don't find it and write you up for a violation. Though if you work for the military-industrial complex or a "three letter agency", you better follow their rules, no matter how silly they seem, or else!

The audio quality is not great, but this recording documents Watchtower president Fred Franz at the Los Angeles convention, stating the specific date and time: sundown, September 5th, 1975 (Erev Rosh Hashana).

The Great Crowd!
by A Believer innotice the 144000 can be counted and they all come from israel.. 9 after this i saw, and look!
a great crowd, which no man was able to number, out of all nations and tribes and peoples and tongues,*+ standing before the throne and before the lamb, dressed in white robes;+ and there were palm branches in their hands.+ .
this great crowd, no man was able to number, and they come from every nation!

If you take the numbers 144,000 and 12,000 literally, then you must also take the other words from Revelation 7 and14 literally:
- 12,000 from each of the tribes of Israel [7:4-8] (the enumeration includes both halves of the tribe of Joseph--Ephraim and Manasseh--but excludes the tribe of Dan)
- Who were not defiled with women; they were virgins [14:4]
- On whose lips was no deceit has been found [14:5]
So, those Anointed Witnesses of Jehovah must be male Jewish virgins who have never told a lie. It is evident that many space remain open!
- 12,000 from each of the tribes of Israel [7:4-8] (the enumeration includes both halves of the tribe of Joseph--Ephraim and Manasseh--but excludes the tribe of Dan)

Does The Multiverse Really Exist? (Shrinking Jehovah To Insignificance)

the making maker must at that zero point in time have been bigger than the embryonic multiverse, but by how much?
That assumes a materialist point of view, that the creator would be of the same substances (matter, energy, space, time) as the things created. When you accept that speaking of God in anthropomorphic terms as a metaphor catering the limitations of human understanding, you can recognize a creator who does not occupy space and time, the creator who made the space-time continuum, i.e. is the ultimate cause of its existence.

Why Jehovah's Witnesses are WRONG about Christmas
by David_Jay inas you know (and are probably tired of hearing me repeat), i’m jewish.
yes, i was a jehovah’s witness when i was a teenager and into my 20s, but returned to my roots and now celebrate chanukah when the holiday season comes around each year.. so why am i writing about christmas?
well, that’s because i thought i would share something about how jehovah’s witnesses teach against christmas.

It is one their many loyalty tests. If you aren't willing to give up Christmas, Easter, birthdays, state holidays, blood transfusions, Saturday mornings, etc. then you are not truly committed to the Watchtower Society. All their arguments against these things are largely a smoke screen for the real question: whether or not you are on their side.
