  i gave my hubby his present around 6a.... we (me & hubby) will be celebrating christmas with a family that used to go to our same kh (the dad was an elder and one of the daughters regularly pioneered for years).

  they all left the jw's a little over a year ago.

  we were asked to bring some extra chairs, but the only ones i could think of were some old bookstudy chairs stashed at my parents house, which are now in the back of my car.

  I'm all for the holistic approach, but today is special. I say take some daytime cold meds and snort some nasal spray. I hope you feel better!

  I gave my hubby his present around 6a......ahem.... Then I gave him some stocking stuffers. We're not doing actual presents this year because it took all I had in my power to have a TREE in the house this year. And it took everything in my power to move it from the corner where it was hidden into a more viewable space. So I told him not to get me a present since it wouldn't mean anything to him anyway. He's at work...BAAAAHUMBUG! (he's a recently faded jw who doesnt *hate* xmas but certainly doesnt like it yet either). I made some white chocolate chip cookies that taste like the ones you get at Subway (minus the nuts). YUM! And I'm going to make a huge salad....I made some candied pecans for it yesterday but used waxed paper instead of parchament paper.....who knew there was a difference?! Anyway, the wax paper melted into the pecans so I googled it and its *OK* for people to *occasionally* eat waxed paper. lol.

  All I have to say is: WHOODATHUNKIT....I would've never imagined this scenario ten years ago. I'm kind of emotional because I'm thankful to spend Christmas with them Oh, and BlueCanary from here will be near my town this weekend so we are going to meetup, play some pool and eat lots of pizza on Sunday

  Is it too soon to ask about New Years Resolutions?

  i recently heard that if you truly want to get something accomplished in the next year, do not make it your new year's resolution.

  90% of people (ok, just made that percentage up, but its close i know) quit their new year's resolutions within six days after january 1st.

  The only two sites that I ever post comments is here on jwn and on facebook. I would be very depressed without either , although I used to read a lot more books before I found jwn . In fact,since today is a lazy Christmas day, I'm gonna shut my computer off in....uhhhh....6ish7ish hours and read a book! jk, i'll be done with ya in about an hour MERRY CHRISTMAS!

  I overheard a nauseating conversation . . .

  i was in the produce section of a local market, when i happened to overhear the following comment: "we celebrate christ's birth every day of the year, not just on christmas!

  " i turned and knew the nature of the source of the comment immediately, judging by the polyester pantsuit and delusional "deer in headlights" look on her face.

  her companion replied, "but i like celebrating christmas and don't see anything wrong with it.

  Organ Transplants...HELP!

  i am doing research on this and have found many, many references.

  wasn't there an article from the wtbs that speaks of organ transplanting as 'on of our modern marvels of this time'?

  it would be before they changed their minds and called it cannabalism (prior to 1967).

  I am referring to those who died from refusing organ transplants back when the Society said it was cannabalistic. I sent CoffeBlack a message on Facebook and she isn't aware of any statistics because the WTBS would do their best to hide things like that. I figured she would be the one to ask since it hits so close to home with her. I can't even fathom what those families went through.
