The upside of atheism

i realize whether you believe in god or the non-existence of god it has to be taken on faith since both positions are unknowable and unprovable.

however, i can understand faith in god as basically a hope for something better.

i can also understand agnosticism; admitting it's unknowable but still leaving the door open (perhaps the only intellectually honest option).

the thing that sucks is that they are very much alive & we are literally less than five miles apart from each other everyday.

i had a long talk with one of my siblings today.

i've been getting a really weird vibe lately...today it was confirmed that i will be shunned from here on out from them.

Thanks again . I think I'm going to leave jwn for awhile. I believe everyone here is probably super positive in your everyday lives, just as I am. We have many blessings to be thankful for, but I tend to come here to bitch & dwell in my negative feelings. Dont get me wrong, I enjoy lots of the fun threads on here too, but they are few and far between. I mainly come here to see what the latest bull$hit gossip is & copy the new WT CD Rom & hear other's sorrow stories that I can relate to. But I'm done for now. I dont want to know anything jw related for awhile. I have about 30 people from here on my facebook & I enjoy seeing their real life 'stuff'. If you want to be my friend on Facebook, pm me. Apparently, "members" is an incorrect term. The Watchtower Bible and Tract Society were "associated" with the United Nations (which will still rock my sibling's world if they investigate, but I absolutely see the point). i believe this is incorrect.. i only make this comment because if we were to repeat the thought that the witnesses were members of the united nations, such misinformation could backfire on us..

didnt they pay a fee to be affiliated with them? And in doing so, they had to uphold the standards and requirements by the UN? Maybe "members" was an incorrect term...if so, I apologize. What term should be used?

Of course, the conversation was a lot longer...but I also wanted to mention something else I said that I hope they will remember: "I find it frusterating that the jw's find fault with all holidays and "worldly" things, but you've never looked into the origins of your own faith and you're willing to stop talking and associating with me still. AND, if Charles Russel were here today, he would be disfellowshipped for all his beliefs."
