Most-Ignored Scriptures by JWs
by Mad Sweeney inthe watchtower has been known for over 130 years as a great scriptural cherry-picker.
they pick out disparate unrelated verses and combine them to support the wackiest of wacky doctrines.. on the other hand there are many scriptures they almost never address, whether because they contradict wt doctrine or because they simply don't have a clue what they mean or how to spin them to the wt advantage.. one of these is revelation 19:1 that mentions a "great crowd" "in heaven.
" the only time it is ever brought up it is dismissed.

Getting into Arguments with JW's...
by ForbiddenFruit ini'm trying to fade away, but i sometimes find myself in discussions or arguments with jw family/friends/white haired virgin elders.
now, i usually have them beat on things but i'm not very experienced, so i was thinking if you guys could help me put together a list of completely unanswerable questions to pose to my jw friends/family/elders so they can stop bugging me.
if i keep asking them questions they simply cannot answer, then they might leave them alone.

NAC- am buried with work- so don't have much time!
Abraham is the ONLY one referred to as Jehovah's FRIEND! Close friends KNOW and UNDERSTAND each other- so Abraham KNEW what God had meant. Finding NO animal sent by God, he was about to offer his son.
You simply read more into it than what was there!

You mean Abraham MISUNDERSTOOD God? The account DOES sat God did it as a TEST!
There was no temple he would have to go and serve in, as with Jepthath's daughter.
I am trying HARD to see it from your eyes- and see NOTHING to indicate our view is wrong on this, my friend!
MM- what is so GREAT is having an association with the same goals, and that tries, as I, to livew up to what is right & true.

I'm disappointed woth you, NAC- you let a personal speculation put a wedge between you and the brotherhood.
You said nothing of substance- nothing that contradicts that Abraham WAS about to slaughter his son- no matter HOW horrible that was to you....OR him.

Doesn't make SENSE! Why go to the mountain? What did Abraham do? Have Issac stand there and look at the sky?
Gen 22:6-And Abraham took thewood of the burnt offering, and laid it upon Isaac his son; and he took thefire in his hand, and a knife; and they went both of them together.
7 And Isaac spake unto Abraham his father, and said, My father: and he said, Here am I, my son. And he said, Behold the fire and the wood: but where is the lamb for a burnt offering?
8 And Abraham said, My son, God will provide himself a lamb for a burnt offering: so they went both of them together.
9 And they came to the place which God had told him of; and Abraham built an altar there, and laid the wood in order, and bound Isaac his son, and laid him on the altar upon the wood.
10 And Abraham stretched forth his hand, and took the knife to slay his son. -KJV
I find it hard to believe the elders didn't point these details out!

Still trying to see your view of Abraham's near-sacrifice; THAT is the crux of the matter!

It's an Honor to 'meet' you, Maeve!
I'm just trying to see if YOU see something I've missed; I'm PAINFULLY aware of the problems of my Brotherhood- it's JUST as described in Revelation: some congregations are good, some, bad, and some ugly!

Maeve- I STILL can't see what YOU see-
Gen 22:2- Then God said, "Take your son, your only son, Isaac, whom you love, and go to the region of Moriah. Sacrifice (Sacrifices were animals slaughtered)
him there as a
burnt offering (burnt offerings were the slaughtered animals burnt in the fire)
on one of the mountains I will tell you about."

Spawn- the things one learns from the Bble (not church) far surpasses the knowledge of men- except for science and technology.
