VM44 - Does anyone know if the complete "Dwelling Together in Unity" book is online?
this was brought up just in passing on another thread.
but i wanted to see if there are any bethelites or ex bethelites that remember some of the crazy rules we had to follow when we were there..

VM44 - Does anyone know if the complete "Dwelling Together in Unity" book is online?
so a couple of months ago, i talked to my mom about the new generation teaching, and she gave me the explanation of how generation could mean contemporaries, blah, blah, blah.
anyway, yesterday she sent me a new shipment of literature.
i got the latest public wt, the 2 new brochures, and the jeremiah book.
It may not be her, the BOE are really rationing the hardcopy kool-aid edition WT and the KM. They are handing them directly to the individual publishers. They will give the family head the ration for the whole family if there are underage publishers in the family. Not so with if there are adult family members. Each must stalk your field service conductor these spiritual gems.
it seems that i have quite a dilemma: i just found out that my mother is in the hospital.
she does not speak to me or my sister.
she is told by the people who publishes the books and magazines that she sells (jehovahs witnesses) that she cannot speak to us or eat a meal with us.
Sorry to hear about your mom, hope she pulls through. Maybe she will accept a phone call from you. If you are ok with possible rejection, i would give it a go. Good luck.
i know this topic has been discussed here before, but i still cease to be amazed at the spending that the wt does to build it's facilities.
this is an issue that jws like to brag about.
today i received an email regarding the open house of the new casa grande az assembly hall.
Your right, no organized charities in the bible. Just numerous examples of practical charitable acts by the likes of Jesus and others, go figure. Also, no mention of billion dollar publishing companies claiming to be hand-picked by god, yet here we are.
Alice said - In this country we also have forced philanthropy imposed by Democrats; welfare, disability, medicaid, medicare. Thanks to the government everyone who pays taxes is fulfilling their duty to be a philanthropist.
Too bad the WT can't claim to be philanthropist's by default because they don't pay taxes.
Alice - Most members of the Governing Body aside from the first ones weren't always in an administrative position and did secular work, not to mention most men their age are retired. The first ones worked secular prior to their theocratic involvement.
You can read this and every year book contains information about missionary activity.
Now how about enlightening us about the secularly employed First Governing Body members, where exactly is this information found? Feel free to cut and paste all you find.

"Branch offices supported by donations? Let's see......
Massive layoffs of Bethelites in the US Branch. Printing downsized, equipment sold off
Downsizing in German Branch
Downsizing in Italian Branch
Downsizing in Spanish Branch
All Branch offices in Central America to be shut down, merged with Mexico (despite growth in Latino congregations and more Spanish publications being printed than in English)
Now, the Irish Branch Office gets dumped
Looks like the donations aren't coming in, Alice. I wonder what the Governing Body will cut next?
No matter what they lose, the fraud continues. They never can admit that something is very very wrong with their 'spiritual paradise". Jehovah is closing His Celestial Wallet.
metatron"
Alice - There was 276,233 baptized in 2009. Reorganization in facility structure doesn't say anything about the organization's expansion. Where did you get your information from? The reason I ask is because brotherdan says they have an extensive cash buffer and should thus have a charity service and you say the funds are drying up. So which is it?
The WT has an extensive real estate inventory worldwide (branches, KH's, Assembly Hall, Brooklyn) that they can tap into at anytime. The closings and probable sale of equipment and branches will supply the WT with cash. Also, they have an arrangement for elderly JW's to sign over their estate when they die. So even without the donations, they are not 'broke'.
It's telling that in these dire economic times, they are choosing to expand their empire in NY and not help the financially, struggling publishers who have contributed their time, energy and money to help build said empire. Even Jesus gave fish and bread to go along with his sermons.

Really? Please cut and paste this information, thanks!
these are the details of my disfellowshipping.
the names and locations have been changed to protect the innocent and the guilty.
my errors are not hidden in an attempt to make me look better, this simply is a presentation of the facts that led up to the disfellowshipping and a re-telling of the contents of the meeting.. .
You are a class-act Cattails!
@LWT, I thought he drove an Infinity and that it was gifted to him by Bro Larry "Funkster" Graham. I guess he got an upgrade!

They have to pay for AC!?!
#11 - WTF!
I thought it was a privilege to have a bethelite in your home and car; they have to pay for rides!?!
What is 'open sleeping'?
it used to make me sick at these hypocrites.. they would be at the meeting the next day or out in field service, obviously still intoxicated from the night before but putting a show on before the congregation.
i knew a couple of girls who would be regulary doing this over a weekend yet they would be pioneers all week, answering up at the meetings yet would be heading into popular nightspots and coming home at 4am drunk.
their dad was an elder (surprise, surprise).. i remember telling an elder about this once.
Yup! I spent the better part of the 90's clubbing with a group of dubs including pioneers, MS and elders. I remember attending a going away party for a bethelite at a club, LOL. Back then, it was very common in my area for dubs to the club or tavern. The thought was that as long as you stuck with the group you came with, it was cool.
