I'm not one to talk about this one. I can't fight, freak out in horror movies, love chick flicks, and cry at weddings and while watching Rent.
I seem to remember, however, that the WT$ dogma encourages men to be "in touch with their feminine side", specifically in the Greatest Man book in the chapter on Lazarus... but that my have just been a comment. Its been a LONG time.

This year is going to be my first halloween away from the JW parents. What should I dress as? Some of my dorm mates suggested dressing up as a JW, complete with "Washtowel" and "Asleep!" magazines about the evils of halloween (with those titles, I can get them printed on campus. ). They're even planning on taking a group trick-or-treating just to see if anyone will give a bunch of college students candy.
I don't think the JW costume will work though (the local congregation hasn't figured out where I've been hiding yet). Any other ideas?
did you 'break the rules' full force?
did you go celebrate a birthday?
buy xmas decorations?
I still have all the game of a nerdy, though not ex-missionary, JW.
First thing I did was get out and get a girlfriend... being an ex-JW living with your JW parents and having a girlfriend leads to some funny stories, too...
after all the years i have been here, i have slowly progressed to the point that the bible, god, and all the other religious stuff out there is just plain bullshit!!!
yet when i first came here and was told by some of the members that that is what i would logically come to, i did not believe them, and yet they were right.
i realize that a lot of people on this board have left, or are struggling with themselves or family to leave, yet many still believe.
I've come to this site to rid myself of the many JW demonds I have left, and maybe meet some new people along the way.

I was in three or four, but visited many more because there were not enough "friends my age" (actually, there were plenty... just wouldn't have anything to do with me, I think because my father was inactive)
...........or so my workmates think lol.
i'm glad simon doesn't ask me for money like some damn pope, but i do have problems explaining why their are sexy singles on my computer all day long.. still overdue........my midlife crisis.....coming soon!.
And whats worse is when you actually try playing the game, there are no babes...
i have not heard from this particular (former) friend in some time.
he and i first met back around 1986-7 at pioneer school in his hometown.
we were both young ms's with dreams of bethel.
It's amazing that all he wanted to know about her is what congregation she attended!
What else do you need to know? He probably figured she was a nice little pioneer woman, and all of those I've met have been pretty much the same. And why bother with a name? He'll be knowing her for the rest of his life as "Sister [insert Snake's last name here]".
Of course, the argument could also have been made that that was just a lead up question...

Hmmm.... In that case, maybe they should go back to "I Am That I Am"... On the other hand, it would be rather confusing to tell someone "I am one of I Am That I Am's witnesses".
many who are considering leaving the witnesses are frightened by the thought itself.
at first though you will possibly feel like there is.
before you jump to conclusions that we made an easy and selfish decision, read on.
I kind of dived head first into sin, myself.
I really appreciated this post. Sometimes its hard to keep pushing yourself and see the light beyond the JWs. Thanks for the encouragement.
