  gorby and his lovely wife had during dinner a chat about watchtower hypocrisy.

  she faded with me since 2007 and shows sometimes affection for the organization.. we talked about the gb and ray franz.. she asked me if she could read my ray franz books.. now i have a dilemma.

  the books gave me a hard time in the '90.. i know the ray franz truth can hurt and shock her so much.

  Personally I think reading ISoCF first may soften the blow.

  Maybe you could suggest your wife read the article on "legalism" in the wt library first, and ask then her opinion?

  It reads like a summary of ISoCF.

  Maybe you could also ask your wife her thoughts on:

  "Is legalism apostasy?"

  "What is the opposite of legalism?"

  i met this girl in highschool, but never really spoke with her until about a year after i graduated.

  she's three years younger (however it's legal where i'm from, don't fret) and still a teenager.

  It's great that you care enough about her and a potential relationship to investigate the Watchtower maze.

  All up, it is very high risk.

  Great advice above by other posters.

  From my personal perspective, until you both are very clear, on where the honey (faith, spirituality, and the gospel) stops and the arsenic (religion) starts, you should not be making lifechanging decisions.

  Maybe you could both agree that when this day arrives you will check in with each other again?

  when...... 1) we follow christ example not the gb.

  2) stop df'ing those for challenging current or past doctrine and allow us to use our god given gift of reason and free wil.

  sure kick out the scumbags even the lions club have rules for membership, but not those who just use their brains and consience.. 3) get rid of the nonsensical blood teaching that has cost the lives of thousands and beg god for forgiveness.

  Except it is "organisation" that keeps getting in the way of "relationship".

  As Bill Maher explained:

  (John 17:3, RNWT) This means everlasting life, their coming to know you, the only true God, and the one whom you sent, Jesus Christ.

  To me that sounds a little like asking:

  "how accurate is a community?"

  or, "how accurate is the process of making sense of disturbing experiences?"

  Of course I'm sure most posters try to be as accurate as possible within the confines of their ability when sharing and comparing their necessarily subjective experiences, in an effort to arrive at objective conclusions.

  Religious fundamentalism and the attendant legalism and moralism have defined outcomes.

  Polarisation.

  Isolation.

  Extremism.

  Hypocrisy.

  Self-righteousness (potentially malignant).

  Ignorance (potentially militant).

  Addiction.

  Irrationality.

  Blindness.

  In these fertile circumstances extant bad and the capacity for bad are amplified dramatically.

  Scientific studies would be great.

  In the meantime a guru from Nazareth once said:

  "Do you have any idea how silly you look, writing a life story that's wrong from start to finish, nitpicking over commas and semicolons? You're hopeless, you religion scholars and Pharisees!
