i think it's part of human nature to be interested in meeting people from other lands.
in our case, it's the international assemblies.
Sadly a common attitude in first world JW congregations: "tell me how much you have in the bank, and I'll tell you what you are worth".
A "helpful" "elder" once expressly told me to find another congregation since I did not have enough money to belong to his congregation. I got the impression that he was endorsing and forwarding this "loving" "advice" from the BOE.

i have always been convinced einstien believed in god.
i assumed what i had learned was correct and never thought i was taught something wrong.. i have seen some points posters have made.
I suspect (and would like to research more) that many great minds have experienced seemingly inexplicable ambivalence about (the "Christian") religion, precisely because they did not have a framework to tell the baby (faith and spirituality) from the bathwater (religion).

Terry, I'm wondering what your take is on "Transpersonal Psychology", its relationship with science, and the prominent professionals that have studied and explained it since 1905?
i know i'm talking about my bad quality it's cause i need to work on it and be a better communicator.... why do i feel it's loving to 'preach' i don't even no i'm doing it and i am.... i don't no anything and i come across as controlling and preachy to my spouse.

I have found it can be therapeutic and very helpful to have someone to share the spiritual journey, excitement and research with - even if only via the internet.

Two verses which have helped me calm down, be less of a perfectionist, and lower my (unreasonably high) expectations of myself and others (less disappointment/s):
"So now there is no condemnation for those who belong to Christ Jesus" (Rom 8:1, NLT).
"For all [are dysfunctional] and fall short of the glory of God" (Rom 3:23, paraphrased)
Contemplating who the "Holy Ones" in scripture are has also been a big help. They are ordinary dysfunctional humans (aka fallen sinners) who have had Jesus' righteousness and holiness imputed to them as a "free gift" by "unmerited favour" (grace).
i know sometimes i can come across as an opologist.

i had a thought on how could the wtbts turn their fortunes around to reducing the out flow, and getting a more positive growth of publishers, particularly in western lands.
The more they window dress the WBTS graveyard the more it rots within (Matt 23:27).
At some point smell must overwhelm appearance.
i really don't like people disparaging active jws on this site by calling them stupid, idiots, morons and that, and making out like they're willing puppets to the gb or cruel at heart.
or describing them like they're puke or as having no desire to learn or listen.. to you, all these things may be true.
we all have opinions and are entitled to them.

today she calls out of the blue, asks how i am, and if there's anything she can do for me.
as of late another jw relative has been a lot more communicative.
