Congratulations Garrett.
It may not be for everyone.
However it worked wonders for our family.
Hugely liberating and empowering.
Best wishes

i just wanted to thank you all for all of your input, support and help over the past few months.
i've decided to officially disassociate myself from the organization and move on with my life.
Congratulations Garrett.

a week or so ago i posted that the forum was 15 years old (15 years of jehovahs-witness.com) and hinted that there may be some news to announce about the site:.
i also may have some other news to share soon about the future of the site so stay posted.
well, now i can announce it - i sold it !.
Right up until I read "Watchtower"...
Anyway it got me thinking.
If a newspaper could print anything they liked and disown it a day later...
What if we all got to work on a worldwide "01 Apr 2016" media campaign today?
it just seems to me religion in general primarily makes truly bad people worse, not genuinly good people better; and in many cases has even made good people do bad things in the name of their religion.
just curious, a personal poll if you will.
what are you guys' current views on religion as a whole?
I agree with your OP FatherFirst.
For me, religion is the arsenic in the honey.
Personally I have found what I've been looking for my whole life, in faith and spirituality, which to me are the very opposite of religion.
i must say that i have always loved jehovah and his son jesus christ.
i have a 12 inch diameter telescope.
i would go outside and listen to the psalms that praised to my god.
"So someone starts a topic with absolute sincerity and then next minute he is fighting off a bunch of rabid dogs".
Vinman you're very welcome to PM me, and I'll gladly get in contact any way that would suit.
Greetings and blessings

ok guys, this is long, so i am sorry, but i think it is important to publish.
this is a glimpse into a 4 page letter (love that song) from my uber elder uncle.
as some of you may know i got tired of being in an email chain and finally lost it and lashed out.
He can write a 4-page diatribe, but cannot answer a simple question?
Like most JWs...
Methinks something stinks...
this site has gone through many metamorphosis over the years.
i believe it is a kinder, less edgy place tan it was a few years ago.
i wonder how many people were helped versus turned off by this place.
The majority on JWC I believe are just great, helpful, kind and sharing - especially the lurkers who would rather not risk being speaking up.
It seems to help if one can accept that the minority do not represent the majority.
so i had about had enough of reading jw's excuses online about wt child abuse and the candace conti nightline abc video about her case.
this is a really deep burning topic to me as i'm sure it is to many of you.
so today the gloves came off.
Flipper you have done really well.
May you have the strength to keep at it and hit many more bullseyes.
May others too find the strength and courage.
If just one person comes around to TTATT it is worth it.
If just one child is spared abuse it is doubly worth it.
Such arrogance, deception and ignorance simply cannot go unchallenged.
Greetings
Fernando
oh, there is one brother that keeps prattling on about "the 5 pillars of faith and worship".
- prayer.
- personal study.
"The 5 pillars of faith"?
The irony of it all.
The Watchtower has no idea what "faith" is, yet somehow manages to steal it from their followers.

i realised something today.... we all happily accepted something really ridiculous.....something that if worded how i will word it now, we would have rejected as ridiculous, but after a moments thought, would have to concede.. we once followed the governing body because we believed they had supernatural powers.
how ridiculous you may say, no we didn't!
of or relating to things that cannot be explained according to natural laws.
Around 1988 an "elder" did a pilgrimage to Mecca, I mean Brooklyn Bethel, and like so many other pilgrims was awestruck by supposedly divine GB pronouncements.
You'll like the one he came home with.
Anyone under the age of 60 claiming to be one of the anointed was mentally unstable or ill.
Namely every one of today's GB???
