Does your JW family exhaust you?
by LucyA inive kind of been lurking on this website for a month and ive decided to introduce myself so a little background.
i was born and raised jw at about the age of sixteen i started to have doubts about my mothers chosen religion (dad is not jw) so started to do some research and decided it wasnt for me.
my mothers still at me about going back though.

My parents are manipulative ANYHOW...so using ANY and ALL means they can to try to convince me to 'come back' is the only thing. My dad is NOT as bad as my mom is though. With him, there is a distinct feeling of 'disinterest' I get from him when it comes to the org. But he goes along with it, so I really can't speak UP on his behalf.
Back to the point- YES, I have always ended up exhausted after talking to my parents. After moving out, I learned that visit to see them are NOT required and NOT healthy for me...even though they are my family. If I love myself at all - I would not subject myself to constant control tactic, demeaning speech, constant criticism, or manipulation!

Assembly Parts NEVER made sense to me....!!!!
by babygirl30 inthis is and always has been one of my biggest gripes: assembly parts/experiences.
not 1....ever......e-v-e-r was even remotely relatable to me.
now i have traveled all over the place (and to other countries) and i have sat amongst rich and poor jws, suburbanites and urbanites, siddity folks and straight 'hood'.....and not 1 assembly experience made me sit up in my seat and say "wow - that's just like me!".

I think you're crazy baby, this year's District Convention was "the best one yet!"
REally? Was it???? I wouldn't know...was too busy being 'worldly' and spending the weekend having FUN instead of attending the 3 days of 'spiritual food'!! My bad.

All these experiences turned God into a grocery delivery person. He was always leaving bags of food on their portch when they needed it most
Oh my GOD...I compeletely forgot about THOSE experiences. Family of 10, father is not working, mom is pioneering and staying STRONG - they had no food and BAM - out of nowhere - BAGS of food dropped at their doorstep. Once again, ROOOOLLLL of the eyes!!!! First off, if neither of them has a good job, why in the HELL do you keep making babies???? How do you plan to feed and support them? And when you DO have that many, both of your arses need to be working FT, I'm sorry. Like I said, Jehovah appreciates sacrifices - he does NOT bless stupidity!

Doubting Bro
I used to WISH to hear some 'real' parts... I figured, the worse this 'system' got, that it would be unavoidable for the society to start making the assemblies less robotic and more personal. But of course, I would get let down cause it would be the SAME people giving the SAME experience I've heard since I stopped sleeping at the assemblies...that is not real. To think - every year I was oppotmistic that the program would be even BETTER then the year before. Right!!!!!!!!!
Watson
A pic - No can do sweetheart! I don't want to give you any 'ammo' to go off in a dark corner and rub one out...ya know? THAT would be on my conscience the rest of the day and HOW could I ever live with myself? LMAO!!!!!!!

Ever been the victim of gossip from JW's?
by highdose ini was many times, the final bout was what drove me out of the borg altogether..... .

I was on the receiving end of gossip many times, but Undercover is right. You're only a victim if you allow it. I eventually stopped the problem by confronting the gossipers directly and publicly. It's a joy to see the liars squirm and cower when confronted directly.
Totally agree. I know people talked about me...but I didn't let it GET to me. Figure, if you are talking ABOUT me - you must ENVY something in me, so that's a compliment. Besides, I am the type that will step to someone and flat out confront them about what I heard...suffice to say word never got back to me after those instances! And those particular 'sisters' were nicely put in their place.

1. I get hit on everyday...not bragging and SURE as heck do NOT think I'm 'all that'. But I'm tall and am chesty sista - so yeah - EVERYDAY some dude is in my face trying to get my number, pulling his car over to talk to me, sending me an email or IM (at work) to get to 'know me better', or is just trying in some way shape or form to get IN my pants!!! LOL. I'm not stupid, I know what they are doing - but - I'll be damned if I quit my job BECAUSE of it. Please! Jehovah expects you to resist temptation - NOT be an idiot. hahahahaha. And I'm a grown arse woman...I can handle it when random people come at me. When did it become SO difficult to say 'no' to unwanted advances?
2. I too turned down college letters - but - I also APPLIED at those colleges and took my SATs. Was a gifted honors student and on Honor Society, so of course college was pushed heavily in my face at school. I had every intention to go to school away from home, and then at the final hour changed my mind (parents threatened me) ... so yes I can say that same thing. Still, I admit that I pursued those schools from the start. The ONLY people that have colleges chasing them are 'athletes' who actually PLAY on the school team and are watched by coaches and scouts or scholars. SO if a brother talks about a 'basketball scholarship' he turned down - what the HECK was he doing to get noticed??? he HAD to be playing on the school team, or some off campus league in order to get that type of attention.
3. I work FT, never really had a desire to reg pioneer, go to Bethel, or move where the need is greater....and guess what....i'm STILL ok! I travel a lot, I support myself, and Im a good person and a great friend.
Where's My assembly part?????????????????????

Oh I know parts are 'altered' ... WAY back in the day when I was about 13/14, my family had a circuit assembly part and we practiced that thing TONS of times - UGH! Finally the week of the assembly, we 'perform' for the CO/DO - and they had us change this and that...say this, be more animated, dont' say that. WHATEVER!!! This is not some Broadway play nor is it an Emmy award winning performance.
I just never felt 'understood' at assemblies. As if MY life or MY temptations were abnormal...so much so that the society NEVER touched on them at assemblies. WHY is giving up a college education, a sports career, a secular profession, a financially secure life, not going out on dates - all grounds for APPLAUSE and CHEER? Show me someone that has their head on straight, is emotionally BALANCED, has a good job, provides for themselves, got a college education, AND still serves jehovah - plus they are doing fine. They aren't 'suffering' like the org says they would be...

Looks like she just stepped off the pages of Victoria Secret, is submissive to the point of slavery, regular pioneers w/o complaint, is codependent and wants nothing more then to make her MAN look good to the 'cong'.
Lady in the street - FREAK in the bed! -hahahahaha
