  I think they thrive on FEAR. It surrounds everything they do. If you do not conform they will threaten that you will not be in Paradise. (Mabie I don't want to go there with all them nuts anyway).

  They also will try to get all they can possible get for FREE. They are most money-grubbing bunch - especially the pioneers. Since they don't work they always have their mouths hanging open for a free meal. They never do reciprucate. Even your trash. They will line up to rummage thru your old clothes and garbage.

  when i come on jwd, i usually comment on a number of threads, check out some research on previous posts on subjects that are on my mind and create a few of my own depending on if i have anything to say.

  i promised myself i would go to bed at 2:30am, it seems like half an hour or less has gone by and it's now 4am, gowd!!!

  does this happen to you?.

  howdy hi guyz & gals!.

  just got interviewed for an article about ex-jw's and the meet-up group.

  unfortunately, the sad newz is that the lack of attendance made it just a telephone interview.

  Just got interviewed for an article about ex-jw's and the meet-up group. Unfortunately, the sad newz is that the lack of attendance made it just a telephone interview. Since I have no family (except the ones not speaking 2 me) I have very little to loose.

  The web site selects locations to meet once a month, and then you can make a selection of the location nearby. Yes, guys & gals I know there are other things going on in life. It helps me to talk to people with skin on them. www.exjw.meetup.com

  well.... any hoo-hah ----- look in the Houston Chronicle on Sunday, May 18th in the LIFESTYLES section for the article. Mabie it will spark some interest. The writer told me the knitters & the dog group is very popular.

  Hi! I work in Houston by the football stadium. I have been away from the jw's for soooo many years, but it continues to haunt me. It's been almost a year since I was told my family can't speak to me & just the other day in the mailbox was a note from one and some pamphlets. Needless to say.....we tore it up. My hubby wants to protect me and wants to retaliate. I reminded him that a christian attitude would be to just forget it & if we're confronted just say "We are not interested". No need to tell them they are part of a cult and they are wackies. It just would have no effect.

  I tried the www.exjw.meetup.com - unfortunately, our area is so widespread that we didn't get any support. Actually, I live in the country about 40 miles outta Houston. They try to meet the first saturday of the month. May meetup is cancelled due to lack of support. I could sure use a pal to understand this.

  It is about +15 for me, but it's very important to know that it took me many many years to have the desire. The jw beliefs had me living in so much fear. Even after living a single life on my own I was still so full of fear. Basicially, deep down I knew there was a God I could understand - it was just so difficult to let go of the idea of God having that big stick in his hand. Most of what I read here is people searching & trying to understand each other. When the time is right it will come.

  There is a rat on this forum

  i think someone on this forum is a rat....or troll as i think they are called.. i am sitting at home last night watching fear factor, and there was a knock at the door.. i opened it to find two elders from my old hall.

  they did not seem very sincere when they apologized for disturbing me without notice.. they said the purpose of there visit was to just to check up on me, find out if my circumstances or opinions had changed.

  we ended up in a huge conversation about my "inactivity", they wanted to know if there was anything keeping or holding me back from the truth, and wanted to know if there was anything i needed to get of my chest, cause guilt has away of keeping people back.

  Be proud - you did wonderful. They are people that are twisted and live in a strange cult world & 2C you happy makes them crazy. Living in fear is not for us - we choose to have freedom.

  i was an orchestra geek.

  i played violin and took all the math classes i could.

  Very geeky:

  Being a jw did not help me fit it anywhere. I had real real long hair so I could hide behind it and hope I would not be noticed for my culty behavior and wierd clothes.

  I had a cow coat (probably very fasionable now) and when I wore it and walked down the hall the kids would moo at me. booo hoooo

  Keeping the Dubs Away

  i've come up with a sure fire way to keep the dubs away from my door.

  this will work way better than the do not call list at the kh.

  beings that my wife is a fallen away dub, and that the three step-kids were dubs, i probably have 10 different book bags laying around the house.

  As a Dub, did you neglect your health?

  when you were an active jw, did you neglect your health because the end was just around the corner.. many witnesses never went to see a doctor for a check up, because they actually believed that the end was a few months away.

  we all know that sicknesses are cured if treated early, but you have to see the doctor on a regular basis for that.. did you neglect your health when you were a jw because you felt that the end was too close?

  I have noticed a freaky thing - why did the jw's I grew up with all become vitamin freaks??? I have heard this from other people too. So if the end was coming why pop all the vitamins? I swear that parent that shunned me probably has created some gastro-intestinal disorder by popping vitamins constantly. This is the same person that told me to get my mercury fillings taken out because they are soooooo dangerous.

  Ain't it great not to have to live in fear anymore?????
