i attended a 2 day circuit assembly a couple of weeks ago and one of the speakers gave this scenario.. "i talked to a brother that was standing on the top of the wts building when the planes flew into the wtc.
he said he knew that the centers would go down at armageddon, but to see it actualy happen, and to see all those poor people jumping from those burning buildings, was gut wrenching.".
You would have to be a wack job to believe that God would kill 99.9% of the world. So saying that about the World Trade Center sounds about right.

after reading a few threads regarding the upcoming christmas season, i thought i'd post a funny story, and ask you to add to it.. if you've ever received a wacky present, or one you had to pretend that you liked, please post it.. about 5 years ago, when i first started celebrating christmas with hubby, i got a real shocker of a present.
a deep fryer.. now, hubby was *very* proud of himself.
you see, about three months prior to christmas we were going through costco (warehouse type store) when i noticed they had a nice little deep fryer.
I told my girl friend I wanted a deep fryer or a waffle iron for my kitchen. I spoil her with the nice gifts, but I do like kitchen gadgets for me.

there has been a number of threads related to evolution in the last month or so.
some posters, like penn, subscribes to a form of creationism, which i for this purpose will define as denial of large scale evolution (sometimes called macro-evolution).. even saner people sometimes alleges that scientists are unnecessarily 'dogmatic' about evolution, and that this is 'just a theory.
' these people may be recent exjws or jws, still believing the watchtower propaganda against evolutionary science, or accepting similar claims from various fundamentalist preachers and groups.
Jan, your DNA post on evolution is very well thought out, and brief. I like that! When I study the fossil record, the same conclusion can be made. When the continents divided, that is when you can see life evolve into its current state. Evolution is always in motion too. Some species become extinct, while other new species are discovered. Some mutations are defects, while other mutations are improvements. If we could live about 500 years, we would see a number of differences in tropical plants an animals for instance. Further, is there no doubt, that Mamoths are larger, hairier, versions of elephants? Again, thanks for your thoughts.

I looked at the pictures on this website. I am not an expert, but the pictures look to be doctored. The ark is not in the same place in relation to the mountain. The exposure of the ark is also different. In some pictures it seems to be 2/3 exposed, and in other pictues it is just barely exposed. Also because of the harsh climate looking at the people in those pictures it is very windy on Mt. Ararat, I doubt the ark would be in tact like it is pictured. The wind would have eroded the exposed end after some 5000 or so years.
