Let's just say that JWs have now self-fulfilled Mt. 24:14 and its companion scripture Mt 28:19,20. Now what? Babylon the Great being destroyed is supposed to happen next. When? How soon? If that doesn't happen in the next2-5 years, what would that mean for Watchtower?
Once again, they would have to reverse course, thus extending the disappointment of millions.
it does but doesn't seem to be in trouble monetarialy.. what is going on.
are they ok but seeing the writing on the wall with lawsuit or something else.. or, are they broke and just hiding it..
So how would the Watchtower end the donation arrangement and go back to a pay per item system? Do they simply announce it? The problem with doing that is those of us who have connections to the inside will bring up Russell's statement about never needing to ask for money. We know they already ask for money constantly, but the JWs are conditioned to that. The sudden change back to a pay per item would be a shock. "I have to pay how much for this crappy paper back bible?"

Saved Condition? What's that? Does the "Condition" part refer to a state similar to being "Saved" without actually being "Saved?" So if the conditional part of "Saved Condition" is removed, does that mean that person is no longer "Saved?"

I listened to the whole thing and I don't know what to think about it. Clearly a chicken-$hit way of going about dumping a girlfriend. But then again, if you are going to dump a girl, that is a unique way of doing it.

No doubt the average JW just nodded his head in agreement, or nodded off to sleep. This speech and any like it are a shocking and bold move that certainly looks much like what they pulled in the years leading up to 1975, only without a designated date.
Didn't once upon a time the JWs believe that citizens of those countries that didn't get a proper witness, would be given a short time to turn to Jehovah after Armageddon? There is nothing scriptural about that speculation, but didn't they once think that could happen?

By eliminating all of the WT's printed over a count of ~15 million, this number would just cover the amount of publishers and their families and studies. They could do away with the Awake altogether....
They will simply get all fired up that the work is ending and armageddon is sooo close now! I wouldn't be surprised if they just used tracts out in service, if they continue to go out in service.
That very well may happen. It would be great if it did. This plan could spell great trouble for them in the long run. When previous predictions failed, there was still more magazines to hand out and more diciple making work ahead. Now if the average JW loses that zeal to get out there and make diciples, what is to keep the average JW from quitting for good?
Now if they just used tracts and campaigns like Kingdom News 37, that would work for the short term. JWs don't actually talk to anybody, but are instead no different than the local paper boy. But in the long term, how many "special messages" can one deliver to the masses before the messages aren't that special anymore?

As already said, that man had a creepy voice.
So according to him, Rev. 17:15-17 which talks about Babylon being destroyed will happen soon. Well that certainly ties in well with the Kingdom News 37 campaign from late last year. It is shocking to convince the Watchtower membership that all people have been given a chance to become a JW. And even more shocking to suggest that the work of preaching to all of Earth's population has now happened. They've managed to say that the populations of India and China along with the former USSR countries have been given a fair chance to learn about Jehovah!
So what's Watchtower's next step?
excuse me if this has been discussed before but im looking for evidence that any of the nt authors knew that the name yahweh (yahveh, jehovah, yhwh, or any variation) existed.
im testing a naive hypothesis that says that the nt authors were reading from the lxx and that they only saw kurios.
keep in mind im a complete novice and a (friendly) dangerous idiot.
For those of us non-scholar types, what is the LXX?
