to the glory of God the FatherWhat is being said here is that it's God's will that we worship and serve Jesus. By doing this we are working in harmony with God's will. Also Jesus tells us that when we pray, we pray to the Father, yet to ask for those things in Jesus's name. This is because they work together. Jesus has the Name above all other names but YHWH's Name is above that of Jesus.
So we are following YHWH's will by serving Jesus and following Jesus' will by praying to the Father through his son.

2 Peter 3:13 confirms what you just posted.
"But we are looking forward to the new heavens and new earth he has promised, a world filled with God's righteousness."
Not all will go to heaven, some will be on earth. I mean you consider that is where we started out in the first place. It would seem a waste of time and energy on God's part to send everyone to heaven if that was His original purpose.
Isaiah 45:18

he is God;
he who fashioned and made the earth,
he founded it;

@ N Drew. yes basically it's a continual process. One can lose out on the promise if they don't handle the word of God correctly (think GB).
Revelation 7:3 "Wait! Don't harm the land or the sea or the trees until we have placed the seal of God on the foreheads of his servants."
This scripture brings home the point that it's only at the point of death does one know of whether one will be in heaven with Christ or not. We have a hope, but it's not assured. It depends on what we do with this gift that determines how things turn out. So when the WTS says a person has "finished their earthly course and is now reigning with Jesus", it's all speculation as only God, Jesus and the person themselves know what the end result is.

Bizarre 'Spirit anointed' v. 'Spirit appointed' explanation in Dec 15th WT
by cedars inhi everyone, i am going through the dec 15th study edition of the wt thanks to a tip-off that this issue is now available online at jw.org.. in the article "guided by god's spirit in the first century and today" on page 25 there is a bizarre argument put forward by the society about the difference between spirit-anointed and spirit-appointed.. this touches on a subject that i have often wondered about, which is this.
why are spirit anointed brothers and sisters (memorial partakers) not given positions of oversight in the congregation by default?
i know it sounds like a stupid question, but please think about it for a moment.

Revelation 7:9 " After this I looked, and there before me was a great multitude that no one could count, from every nation, tribe, people and language, standing before the throne and before the Lamb. They were wearing white robes and were holding palm branches in their hands."
Despite what the WTS teaches concerning this, the scripture clearly shows that a great multitude, that no one could count is in heaven (which is where both YHWH's throne and Jesus are located).
The 144,000 are simply those that rule with Christ. The great multitude are those who were "anointed" but were not chosen to rule (be a part of the 144,000), yet they are still in heaven.
This explains why the numbers are increasing.
Remember Matthew 22:14 "Many are called but few are chosen." Just being "anointed" with God's Holy Spirit is no guarantee of being of the 144,000. It just means you were called. Out of those who were called, only 144,000 are selected to rule with Christ. The others serve before the throne of God.
