LOL moshe,
I guess in the same way none one is allowed in the the writting committies library, even bethelites?
reading jeff's thread about dress made me think of my one and only trip to bethel.. i can't remember if i was babtised at the time, but i went with a bus load of jws.. like someone said in the last thread, printing presses and empty rooms.
i was very disapointed, however i don't think i had any pre-concieved notions of what it would be like.
what i was diapointed in was so much of the "tour" was walking hallways looking at exhibits behind glass.

What I was diapointed in was so much of the "tour" was walking hallways looking at exhibits behind glass. This was around '96 so the MEPS was the big thing at the time. I guess printing din't interest me, I could see that at my local newspaper. I was interested in where the writing, photography, and music came from. I guess I fully expected to meet a GB memeber and learn about how "new light " is formed.
I did have a friend that was able to show us little more of patterson than was on the regular tour, but even that was sobering. Now that I think about it, the only things that we saw on the tour was blue collar jobs. Nothing in the creative or highly skilled side of things with one exception, my friend worked in artwork dept, that was the only thing that made the trip worth it.
For some reason I dont remember we never did lunch.
I remember one thing now....the tour I was on spent so much time in the laundry room and I was told that all new volunteers started there. I think I must have decided on that trip I would never "sign up.
For you who have never "served" at Bethel, what was your experince visiting?
sorry about the mishap on my previous post.
anyway i've been a member on this board for quite a while but mostly just lerking.
i've given just a tease about what my deal is on a previous post but this will be a little more in depth.
12and thou shalt set bounds unto the people round about, saying, take heed to yourselves, that ye go not up into the mount, or touch the border of it: whosoever toucheth the mount shall be surely put to death:.
16and it came to pass on the third day in the morning, that there were thunders and lightnings, and a thick cloud upon the mount, and the voice of the trumpet exceeding loud; so that all the people that was in the camp trembled.. 18and mount sinai was altogether on a smoke, because the lord descended upon it in fire: and the smoke thereof ascended as the smoke of a furnace, and the whole mount quaked greatly.. .
was yahweh the god of the volcano?.
I wanted to add to this a video I found talking about volcanos in Egypt.

This is more about the santorni volcano Cameo-d referenced.

.
...at least for the people around me that it pretty close to accurate...JWs at least put more effort into reading the bible than many religions.
Maybe we could add one piece to it called "read the bible with preconceptions"

hello: last night i got a computer virus.
after fighting with it for several hours.
i installed a new to this computer.
Sounds like you need to download the motherboard drivers from the manufacturer. Probably your USB ports are not working yet, that would explain your other trouble.
i saw this in the clearence bin and couldn't pass it up.
the frame came with a grand mother, mother, and daughter picture in it.. .
Outlaw: When the secular scholars disagree with the bible, we have to side with the bible, and the bible evidently doesn't agree with Merriam-webster.
Just like Merriam-Webster doesn't agree that Jeresulam was evidently destroyed in 607, we have to........
Sorry can't finish, lauging too hard.
