Rock Center 1/17/2013 Expose on Scientology drew JW similarities
by RagingBull indid anyone watch the nbc program "rock center" last night?
it dealt with scientology defectors and the stories, (shunning, tax-exempte etc) sounded very much like the watchtower/jehovah witnesses!.
i sat with my family...and there was dead silence throughout the report.

untitled
by Honeybucket inabout six months ago i deactivated my facebook account.
i got tired of witnesses reading my posts, taking it the wrong way, and then going to the elders about it.
and they share it with others in the hall.

That would make her part of "The Generation" that saw the end of the gentil times.
Or was that the second generation that simply born by 1914?
Er..if she is overlapping with a generation...no wait... so she is the overlapped generation not the overlapping generation?

I've just been 'Outted' by my own sister
by Newly Enlightened ini thought that we could just fade away peacefully, but i guess my mother told my sister that we no longer wanted to be jehovah's witnesses so now all hell is breaking loose.. .
it's a relief tho.
i feel really sad and upset also, because my mom lives with my sister and now has been forbidden from contacting me or vice versa.

Unfortunatly there is no middle ground with the org, if you choose to be inactive that is the same as saying you don't want to be a JW, which is the same as disassocation.
The real world isn't so black-and-whiite, but they are.
Also remember their definition of an apostate, is as simple as someone who believes differently or leaves. You don'thave to speak out or write books, private thoughts are held against you.
You may want to spend a few emails just saying Hello, talk about your day. Just try to establish conversation that is not about anythign JW. Hopefully your sister won't interfer. If you mothin has made a choice you probabky just want to be friendly for a while and not give you sister any reason to block your email.
I wish you the best and congatulations and taking control of your own life.

I was home schooled (HS) by my JW parents, just left to finish the work without help.
i took the easiest classes (Armageddon was coming soon) just to finish. I am all the worse off for it now, and regret it daily.
Some parents are up to the task, sounds like JeffT's wife is doing a great job, but I feel people like that are few and far between.

I can tell you Anthony Morris the Third is a Vietnam war veteran...
Because he mentions it every talk, and every chance to bring it up?

The scientific hypocrisy of Jehovah's Witnesses
by jwfacts ini have been involved in an email exchange with a jw regarding my article on noah's flood, and whether it was global.
it got me really worked up, as i find the watchtower mentality totally hypocritical.
here is part of the conversation.. .

Wow, I seem to have made it out alright..
by GoodGuyGreg inhi, new member here, but i've lurked for a while.. for obvious reasons, i won't give too many details about myself, but i thought i'd share my story of what might in the end have been the easiest fade in recorded history.
it's going to be a wall of text, and i'm writing it mostly for myself to get it out of my system, but it is, of course, a pretty open forum, so any comments and most questions are welcome.. here goes:.
what made me realize ttatt was legalism.

Thank you for your story.
It was legalism that turned me from inactive, while I didn't believe to downright apostate.
I was OK having differing beliefs, it was when I realized I wasn't allowed to share them that I changed.
To me it was NOT OK to say it is fine if you believe something, just don't tell others.
