so now what?
by Kaltas1 ini don't really know what to say i'm a bit nervous.
but i am new here and i want to say thank you all for these forums and the many contributions people have made.. for about 9 months i been frequenting here and other places on the net while i have undergone an in depth bible analysis.
after finding that my bible is not consistant with the more favorable options of translating greek words especially in key doctinal areas, i have concluded the great unlikelyhood of jehovah's witnesses having god's blessing and approval.. not just that though.

Welcome to the Forum Kaltas, take your time you will get there, no rush...how long have you been out/fading?
I know when I was first out I was almost obsessive with reading different bible translations, it will slowly calm down for you
wish you well

OMG ....we overslept lol
by judi8751 indid anyone else do this on sunday mornings: when i was slowly waking up i realised that i didnt want to be at the meetings anymore, my hubby would be sleeping and i realised it was time to get up & get ready, so even though i was bursting for the loo i would hold it so as not to wake him up .
sometimes i was in pain holding it in , but waited till it was too late to get there on time lol.
then he would suggest going to the afternoon meeting intead and i would say i didnt like that congregation...you go hahahahaha, funny thing is he never liked going to the meetings by himself!!!

Your so right about the ambient stress, bad marriage and crackpot religion, looking back how did we cope ? no wonder I would see Sisters crying in the toilets & mothers's room , but not being able to verbalise what was wrong. I love meeting new people now, especially the exjw community we have had some fun times. Bloody hell back in the borg days we would have these oh so spiritual gatherings so boring & tedious, everyone trying to show how super spiritual they were and quoting scriptures right left & centre......oh makes me go all cold thinking about it lol

SCRIPTURAL DIVORCE
by The Searcher ini am genuinely in the dark on this one; .
can someone with experience of this explain to me what a "scriptural divorce" is?
i have always believed what christ said was the only basis for divorce.

The only JW criteria for divorce is adultery....so whatever abuse you going through, you got to stick it out and wait on Jehovah......crazy !!!!

Totally understand what you going through, I have the ocassional dream that I am still with my abusive ex ( cant understand why as am more than happy to be out of it). The Elders tried to get me to return to him after I left him and put the guilt trip on me, this man made me homeless 4x, didnt look after his family, pretended to work, didnt bring any money in and set up so many 'businesses' it was ridiculous. Not entirely sure it ever goes away, especially if you had many years together. I try and look on all the positive stuff I have in my life now ( and there are loads) if you want to chat more PM me x

Glander I totally understand, I would relish those few ocassions when my JW hubby would inform me that we were only going to the talk because of having 'the friends' round or going to' worldly' relatives and we neede to prepare. Think I went to those meetings with a spring in my step lol
