Consolation on Demand
by chasson ini have a lot of consolation magazines that i could scan.. if you want a particular issue for research, tell me and i will scan it, and you can tell to the board more what are your research, so everybody will have more insight.. .
here is one of this magazine concerning the madison square garden incident.
this incident is connected with the olyn moyle's trial and it is interessant to see the vision of rutherford concerning this.. he tried in this magazine to excuse the usher, because what he said on stage was "the word of jehovah", so nobody must stop the "spreading of the word of god".

Would the WT$ outright lie?
by peacedog inin another thread the question of whether or not the wt$ would "outright lie" was raised.. i happen to believe that they would in a heartbeat, although i agree that their preference is for sneaky misleading statements as opposed to outright lies.
regardless, here's a short list of some of what i consider incontrovertible evidence that yes, the wt$ would outright lie.. .
consider the following statements printed in the wt magazine:.

Another outright lie by the "true religion", this one from the book Let Your Kingdom Come (1981):
Counting from October 607 B.C.E., the "seven times" of 2,520 years bring us down to early October 1914 C.E., when, as we have already seen, Jesus' great prophecy on "the conclusion of the system of things" started to be fulfilled. Reliable information in God's Word is the basis for this conclusion, which the Watchtower magazine has been championing now for more than 100 years. (Let Your Kingdom Come, 1981, p.137)
According to these statements, the "conclusion of the system of things" prophecy STARTED to be fulfilled in October 1914, and the Watchtower magazine has been "championing" this for more than 100 years.......
........except that as already shown in previous posts, the WT$ used to teach that Jesus' prophecy on the "conclusion of the system of things" started to be fulfilled in 1799, not 1914. October 1914 was said to be the ABSOLUTE END of the conclusion of the system of things:
The indisputable facts, therefore, show that the "time of the end" began in 1799; that the Lord's second presence began in 1874; that the harvest followed thereafter and greater light has come upon the Word of God. (WT, 3/1, 1922, p.73)
We see no reason for changing the figures – nor could we change them if we would. They are, we believe, God’s dates, not ours. But bear in mind that the end of 1914 is not the date for the beginning, but for the end of the time of trouble. (WT Reprints, 7/15,1894, p.1672)
In 1981, the Watchtower magazine had NOT been "championing" 1914 as the start of ANYTHING "for more than 100 years"...

mrsjones: I think technically the 144k *is* the F&DS, although for all intents and purposes, the GB is really the F&DS......
isaacaustin: Of course, you must be right... I've got to stop jumping the gun like that. Now where is that vomit bag....
I continue to be amazed by the degree to which the GB has elevated themselves and supplanted Jesus in their own eschatology. They are truly legends in their own minds...

Another example of the WT$ elevating themselves to Jesus-status. It's not Jesus who'll deal with Satan - it's Jesus ALONG WITH THE FAITHFUL AND DISCREET SLAVE CLASS.
The WT$ cited Rom 5:12 and Rev 20:10, but - surprise! - neither support the claim that they (FDS) will "deal with the root causes of mankind's woes-sin and the devil"....

Money will be worthless. In fact, Ezekiel 7:19 says: "Into the streets they will throw their very silver, and an abhorrent thing their own gold will become." That foreknowledge can help us to act wisely now..... In view of the nearness of Jehovah's day, each of us does well to consider: 'Where am I storing up treasure? Am I slaving for God or for Riches?'
After more than a hundred years of "nearness of Jehovah's day", it's hard to believe people still swallow this........

Another problem for the WT, Isaiah 44:24
by Chalam inhere's a problem for the wt with their god father and "a god" son theology.. the wt major on proverbs 8 and give the title of "master worker" to jesus and insert the word "[other]" into john 1:3 colossians 1:16 etc.. however, there are plenty of scriptural problems, consider this one.

I always thought it was funny that the NWT "translators" chose to include a rhetorical question in their rendering of Isaiah 44:24. They have "Jehovah" asking, rhetorically, "Who was with me?"
This is what Jehovah has said, your Repurchaser and the former of you from the belly: "I, Jehovah, am doing everything, stretching out the heavens by myself, laying out the earth. Who was with me?
Despite the rhetorical nature of the question and the obvious implied answer of "no one", JWs are forced to answer "THERE WAS ANOTHER GOD WITH YOU."
Next time a JW tries to tell you he or she believes the bible and is not a follower of men, show them this verse.

Today, Jehovah’s Witnesses point to the “sign” given by Jesus and look back upon 1914 as the year when his invisible presence in Kingdom power became a reality. But how could they have had advance knowledge of such a momentous event? Not because of extraordinary human wisdom. No, but because they have prayerfully studied the Scriptures, heeded God’s prophetic word and paid more than usual attention to what God’s Son foretold. (2 Peter 1:19; Hebrews 1:1, 2; 2:1) Grateful that Jehovah has ‘told them fresh things before they have appeared,’ the Witnesses are delighted to be spreading this knowledge earth wide.
Here the WT$ claims to have had "advance knowledge" of "1914 as the year when [Jesus'] invisible presence in Kingdom power became a reality".
They go on to say that "Jehovah has 'told them fresh things before they have appeared'".
But if we look at WT$ literature from the pre-1914 era we see that the WT$ had NO SUCH ADVANCE KNOWELDGE OF THIS SUPPOSED EVENT. Rather, prior to 1914, the WT$ taught that Jesus had ALREADY returned (in 1874) and had ALREADY assumed "Kingdom power" in 1978:
The Life-giver is present; and, since 1878, when he took his great power and began the exercise of his authority, none of his members need to sleep. (Thy Kingdom Come, 1891, p.240)
The year A.D. 1878, being the parallel of his assuming power and authority in the type, clearly marks the time for the actual assuming of power as King of kings, by our present, spiritual, invisible Lord–the time of his taking to himself his great power to reign, which in the prophecy is closely associated with the resurrection of his faithful, and the beginning of the trouble and wrath upon the nations. (The Time Is At Hand, 1902, pg.239)
Another blatant lie by the supposed "true religion"....
