September 15th Watchtower is making me feel literally ill
by sd-7 in...i can't believe how loaded it is with all manner of arrogance, organizational chest-thumping/idolatry, and i still haven't gotten to the last article yet!
i know...i shouldn't be reading it.
i just...need to know what's going on so i can at least know what's going into my family's heads.

Actually, they should thank their lucky stars that all these new 'younger' ones are starting to take the emblems because it buys the Borg some desperately needed time.
So true Mary, but I'm not sure luck had much to do with it.
Not for one second do I doubt that the GB fudged the number of partakers to make it appear that there were new anointed on the scene. This published increase in numbers led to multiple statements in the magazines which implied that it was now acceptable for new ones to partake. These statements in the magazines in turn led to new ones partaking. And hey presto! The Society just created a whole new generation of anointed which they can plug right in to their shiny new "overlapping generation" doctrine.
Once the number of new partakers reaches a level deemed acceptable to the Society, the published numbers of partakers will level off and start its slow decline. The GB will move back to a hard line stance about new ones partaking, and will eventually point to the decline in the number of partakers as evidence of the nearness of the end......

...indulging in permissive human reasonings.
Only the Watchtower Society can make thinking sound evil.

WT September 15, 2010 - The Faithful and NOT SO Discrete Slave
by Designer Stubble inthe wt of september 15, 2010 (kool-aid version) has two articles on unity.
one is titled: unity identifies true worship and the other christian unity glorifies god.
of course it is more uniformity, not true unity.

Classic Watchtower 'double-think':
Jehovah’s Witnesses recognize no human as their leader. They are not disciples or followers of any man.
The anointed and their other sheep companions recognize that by following the lead of the modern-day Governing Body, they are in fact following their Leader, Christ.
Honestly, this stuff makes me want to puke. Can't believe my entire family swallows this shite............

On a side note...
The article quotes Rev 2:23, which has Jesus saying: "I am he who searches the kidneys and hearts, and I will give to you individually according to your deeds."
A bold claim, considering Jer 17:10: "I, Jehovah, am searching the heart, examining the kidneys, even to give to each one according to his ways, according to the fruitage of his dealings."
Jesus claims to be "he" (or "the one") who searches the kidneys and hearts, etc; in the face of Jeremiah 17:10, this can only be taken as a claim of Deity.
Also, 1 Kings 8:39: "then may you yourself hear from the heavens, your established place of dwelling, and you must forgive and act and give to each one according to all his ways, because you know his heart (for you yourself alone well know the heart of all the sons of mankind)"
Just saying....

Blondie's Comments You Will Not Hear at the 06-13-10 WT Study (HOLY SPIRIT)
by blondie incomments you will not hear at the 06-13-10 wt study (april 15, 2010, pages 7-11 (purpose).
as we have seen, jehovah used his spirit in the past to protect individuals as well as the nation of israel as a whole.
why doesnt god protect individuals today?.

Blondie, thanks so much for your effort in putting this together.
Undercover, man I was thinking exactly the same thing. Exactly.
The deviousness in paragraphs 13 & 14 staggers me:
"holy spirit is at work in bringing Bible truths to light"
"This magazine has long been used....as the primary channel for dispensing increased light."
"keeping up with advancing light....following the leadings of the holy spirit."
And was holy spirit at work, dispensing "increased light" when the WT magazine said (in 1995) that the generation was wicked people who failed to mend their ways?
How could it possibly have been, when that interpretation was completely contradicted by the next interpretation (in 2008) which said that the generation was "anointed Christians" ?
Each time the Watchtower Society changes a doctrine, they claim (directly or indirectly) that it is an "increase of light" from God via his holy spirit. The fact that this supposed "increase of light" CONTRADICTS what was previously heralded as an "increase of light" is not mentioned.
It seems to me that being a Jehovah's Witness means believing one of two things: either that God (via his "holy spirit") tells lies and contradicts himself; or that the GB lies when they claim to be revealing "increased light" under the direction of the holy spirit.
I challenge any JW to show me how this is not the case.

The 'don't read apostate publications' rule applies to the rank and file members of the JWs...... the higher ups do what they want, when they want.
If I am not mistaken, Ray Franz mentioned in CoC that apostate publications are readily available at Headquarters.

Compare the previous quote with these statements:
The book then raises the logical question. "Is it reasonable to assume that the religion imposed at one's birth is necessarily the whole truth?" Thus, every person is encouraged to examine other religions with an open mind. –The Watchtower, April 1, 1991, p. 17.
Can you say LIARS ?
Peace,
