  just polling: what are some of your favorite classic and/or obscure video/computer games?.

  lately i've been having an absolute blast with a pc engine emulator called "ootake.

  " if you're not familiar with the pc engine, it was a console that was huge in japan but flopped in the u.s. as the "turbografx-16".

  years ago before i took the time and effort to study logic and argumentation, i went to a market and bought some toothpaste.

  it was a little-known brand and it touted "baking soda" as its magic ingredient.

  it was also cheaper than the name-brand toothpastes and that helped me in my decision.

  But is it a "straw man" and/or defamatory when its used in reference to an actual cult?

  The word "channel" was simply used to express the opinion that we are the only people at this time following Jehovah on earth and that is literally the truth.

  Wrong on both counts.

  The WT$ doesn't claim to be "God's channel of followers" do they? Not only is that NOT the Society's claim, but it doesn't even make sense as a concept...

  The WT$ claims to be "God's channel OF COMMUNICATION".

  Now according to your previous statement, this claim is "not a teaching you actually check against the Bible". I happen to agree with you in that the WT$'s claim to be "God's channel OF COMMUNICATION" is wholly unscriptural and so obviously not something you could "check against the Bible".

  My question to you was (and is), what *is* the WT$'s claim to be "God's channel OF COMMUNICATION" based on, since we agree it's not based on scripture?

  Is it not simply an arbitrary claim made by the leaders of the WT cult based on nothing that is not subjective?

  once again our lurking jw friend sent us the oct. 15th jw study version for the wt studies.

  in this article you'll observe the wt society really making jehovah's witnesses question themselves, doubt themselves - even if what they are observing the organization doing - they are not to doubt jehovah or the organization, but their own imperfect human judgments.

  in other words : " don't trust your own mind - it's skewed ".. under the article titled, " keep on seeking first his righteousness " on pg.8 it lays the groundwork in stating, " seeking his righteousness includes trying to live according to his values, and perfect standards, not our own.
