palmtree, that's terrible! I'm glad you found another job quickly.
I'm a dog groomer and recently started working at a private shop. I like it a lot :)
It's not my "dream career", though, in the future I'd like to be a midwife.
i am a support worker for adults with profound disabilities and some with autism and i love caring for people ..

well i guess the thing to do here is to kinda tell your story so that is what i'm going to attempt to here.
even though it makes me a bit nervous.. my experience with the jehovah's witnesses was short compared to lots of people here.
i was only involved for about 3 yrs.
Thank you for sharing your story! A break from religion might be exactly what you need to help clear your head right now, find out who you really are and what YOU believe, not what you have been taught to believe by one church or another.
Welcome to the site :)
why do you call it "the truth"?
even after you leave??.
it's wrong on so many levels.
It's a habit thing, and it goes beyond just a habit, really. I mean, I heard it from birth. It takes time to undo that. I get annoyed/upset when I notice I've said it, but it is becoming less and less often.
the date of your death in advance?.
the method of your death?.
who your heirs, if any, will be?.
No to all, except maybe this one:
How much your funeral, if any, will cost?
I plan to be cremated, but would like to know what the costs will be for that and any service that may be held, to not burden someone else with it.

officials plan to evict a branch of the jehovah's witnesses from an 18th century estate in northern moscow, the prefect of moscow's northern district, oleg mitvol, said on wednesday.. mitvol claimed the mikhalkovo estate with nearly 100 hectares was illegally privatized by a moscow cotton factory and later sold to the jehovah's witnesses.
the estate is estimated to be worth $350 million.. "we have been receiving continual complaints from veterans that the historic building on mikhalkovskaya street currently houses a branch of the jehovah's witnesses," he added.. russia considers jehovah's witnesses a religious sect and its activities therefore illegal.
I don't disagree with it. They're dangerous, and they're banned for being an extremist group, which they are! Some things don't need/deserve the freedom to keep on going, they need to be stopped.
while in jw i knew so many women who had trouble falling pregnant or had trouble keeping babies to term including my own family.
out of us 6 girls only 2 could fall pregnant.. i've heard since leaving that the masons have a curse on them that effects fertility, since the founders of jw were masons has it passed on?.
the bible does talk about curses and that they were generational.. is this an urban myth?
"s a result for some fertility levels were lower and it took longer to conceive. For others they were unaware that they had problems and so were too old to start IVF treatment."
Isn't IVF treatment forbidden, though? Along with surrogates and sperm donors...I was also going to bring that up earlier and forgot. A lot of people in the world have trouble getting pregnant and go through much work and expense to have a child. Testing, methods like I mentioned above, drugs, etc...most of these are forbidden for JWs, and the ones that aren't, well, most JWs don't have much extra cash laying around, and they certainly won't spend it on anything that will "fix" them in anyway, because "Jehovah is going to do that soon enough".

Look at the average infertility rate in the US (I'm not sure where you are...), it's probably not much different at all than within the borg. It's a fact of life that a lot of people have trouble getting pregnant nowadays, and there are a lot of theories as to why, but it's not because of a curse. I mean, many people believe it's from disposable diapers, and while a lot of people might not believe that, it makes more sense than a curse. There's a lot of toxins out there that we wear, eat, or are exposed to in some way, and it makes sense that it's harder for some people to conceive. Infertility isn't a new thing, though, there have always been people who couldn't conceive a child.
Plus, the average JW is sexually repressed and sexually ignorant. How many JW women know when they're ovulating and the ideal time to try to conceive? I think, as a teen, I taught my mom more about fertility and the cycle than she had learned in her previous 50 years.
As for why a lot of JWs have miscarriages, again, it's not just JWs, it's estimated that as many as 30% of pregnancies end in miscarriage. One of the causes of miscarriage- Lifestyle (i.e. smoking, drug use, malnutrition, excessive caffeine and exposure to radiation or toxic substances). Exposure to toxic substances is inevitable, and how many JWs DON'T grab a cup of coffee every morning? However, the majority of miscarriages are just random and by chance, whether you're a JW or not, it just happens occasionally. I can't really think of many women I know that either didn't have trouble getting pregnant or haven't had a miscarriage. It seems that one or the other applies to nearly all of them. "Worldly" women, btw, I'm not speaking about JWs.
well it's very close.... i knew this would kinda happen at some point in my life.... still you only realise the full extent of the situation when you are facing it.. i never was a 'hard core' jw and all of the 'secret' boyfriends i've had were non-jws.
present one included.
except now, we have decided to get married and i have the most unpleasant task ahead of me.. 1) i'm indian, so dating isn't really accepted as the norm and most parents are very conservative.. 2) my mum is a jw and i was raised as one (though i am an atheist now, but she doesn't know this!!
A little JW saying to keep in mind if you're feeling bad about lying to dubs: "Theocratic warfare"
If they can openly lie in court (not just lie but strategize about HOW they're going to lie), then I definitely don't need to feel guilty for lying to them.
just curious.. has anyone successfully tested the 'power' of the holy spirit by being appointed even though they were not zealous jw's?.
once i get appointed, i'd resign within a week.
'coz i would'nt stand jc's and df'ing people..
Ooooh, do it! It would be fun for sure. You can share all of the juicy details with us.
this past week has just been so satisfying.... i am literally energized by the work i am doing.
focused emails, phone calls, public meetings,.
board meetings, new outreach program planning,.
Nice post!
