I think he's being ironic, guys.
The first person who overcame my paranoia and got me to vote was a mate and I voted for the "Brixton Rainbow Alliance" Yeah!
Sometimes humour works, plenty of people voted for Screaming Lord Sutch and his "Monster Raving Loony"Party.
However, I do appreciate that you American's take democracy seriously. Thats a little hard for us, given that we still have a ruddy monarchy kicking around..

Woohoo, just found this thread Talesin (whilst looking at some of your posts about your parents)I had no idea...
This is big news, they will appeal of course but hopefully if it sticks it will open the floodgates.
Really if the WT is so callous with their own elderly & sick, are they gonna care or do anything charitable for the community?Pushing your own agenda with mags does not count!

Are single sisters happier?
by Esmeralda001 inthis question is for the ladies out there, but if you are a man and you'd like to share your thoughts on the following topic you are welcomed to do so.
given the wt society's view on women, did any of you ladies gave up on the idea of getting married "in the truth".
in such case, did you sometimes feel that you were missing out?

Kaik that is one of the most heartbreaking stories I have heard, do you think she realized the religon was a sham? Or perhaps she had been diagnosed with something noone knew about?
Perhaps she developed some kind of late onset psychosis. Bloody awful, poor kid

Islam is growing, why?
Basically, imho it's the concept of evil that plagues Christians - they cannot find a satisfying answer to it that also does not change their concept of god ie all good, knowing, powerful.
Muslim theologans dissolve the problem of evil straight away as they believe evil is part of god also - a way of learning, essentially.
I would like to point out that if they believed in conversion the Isrealites would behave like isis in a heartbeat - they have and do, only in their case the issue at stake is land.
The problem is the same - the 'god given right'for or to do something!š”

"Most women would prefer to be stay at home housewives. Women's lib did alot of damage to women!"
by purrpurr inthe above is a quote from a jw female relative.
this was in response to a discussion about the suffragette movement ( and the movie about it that's currently in cinemas).
she seemed to think that it would be so much better if women were just daughters/ wives/ mothers and didn't go out to work and have career's?

he Women's Liberation movement didn't come up with the idea of women working outside the home. Women have been working outside the home, growing crops or earning money for thousands of years to feed their children
Absolutely Xanthippe, it was only ever an option for the upper classes.
With the opening up of the middle class during the Victorian era there was a brief time where women who where not part of the aristocracy would 'manage'the home & servants but WW 1 brought an end to much of that.
Poor women have always worked their fingers to the bone. If they didn't die in childbirth, that is.
