  Is Knowing/Using The Name Of God Important?

  i say no.. although the tetragrammaton appears close to 7000 times in the hebrew scriptures, the personal name of god does not.

  seems to me that god made sure that both that his personal name does not appear therein and that no one would ever actually know it or learn even how to pronounce it.

  he also made sure that his name (baring 3 hallelujahs in revelation) did not appear in the new testament.

  Terry The idea of "giving" to God is perhaps the most peculiar of all human ideas. God needs nothing and can make no use of something burned on an altar. The fable spinners, however, like to assure us God's nostrils can be pleased by the aroma of burnt oxen. The Physics of molecules and the distance from Earth to Heaven was much more (ignorant) simple in the old days.

  The whole concept of blood sacrifice , the " sweet savour"(why do I always hear that expression in a Jamaican accent) is more revolting than the " shoot" that the ancient Jews found so terrible. At least a penis is harmless.

  i've read many statements on this forum from people who have expressed the sentiment that you don't shove ttatt down the throat of an older person.

  it would be too traumatic and its best to let some people, in some situations, simply pass on in the delusion.. its humane.

  merciful.. in the initial roar of my awakening, i was unable to cuddle up to that sentiment; preferring, instead, to shove the blood curdling shock of truth down the throat of anyone i could get my grip on... age be dammed.

  i left the watchtower organization almost 20 years ago but never abandoned my faith and belief in god.

  i knew the gb/organization didn’t represent god, so when i lost my faith in them, i managed to keep my faith in an all wise benevolent creator.

  it seems britain has voted to leave the eu in a move of total madness!

  the markets are already in free fall and the moronic bigots who campaigned for this are celebrating the demise of our country .. i can't see how a 49-51% split can be democratic?

  there is still the postal vote to come in, maybe there's hope in that?

  Kaik Another issue I see will happen will be UK accreditation of education, licensing, and patents, because they will case to be in alignment with EU. And foreigner education without accreditation or mutual receptivity is pretty much worthless outside native countries.

  is is a hugely Important issue....desperately worrying. Devastating for the youngsters.

  Britain currently has complete sovereignty when it comes to her laws....the only exception to this are the laws governing trade, obviously it is necessary for Europe to be on the same page regarding this. The politicians have been blaming Europe for any and everything for years...focusing on idiotic issues like the " tampon tax" .

  And so it begins...Britain youve been conned....tonight Daniel Hannan Tory mp and prominent leaver stated that Britain Will favour the Norway relationship post brexit, with....you guessed it...free movement of labour!

  Not to mention the touted 350 million for the NHS touted pre referendum is shrinking by the minute...currently down to 100 million!

  There is often a lot of one-up manship on exdub forums....a hangover, as you said, no doubt. Often to the detriment of the less educated, professionally experienced or confident amoung us.....a shame given our under- privileged background.

  Cart "Witnessing"

  besides being a waste of time for those doing it, and being an easy way for the society to inflate its reports of time spent in the ministry, cart witnessing is also taking up space.

  i live in a hot city in brazil.

  today, the jws decided to set up their cart in the shady spot of the bus stop, where people going to work have to wait for the bus.. ugh!.

  Sin Inherited Humankind

  so jws believe all humans have faults, problems, birth pangs, etc., because we all inherited sin from the original human being adam.

  like i would like this to make since but why would jehovah do this to future humans who have done nothing wrong at all?

  i think of it like if a parent has one child and that child really disobeyed her before then when the parent has a second child, she punishes that child because of what her first did.

  Judaism finds the teaching that Adam's sin is inherited as impossible to reconcile with Ezekiel 18.20 which states that God does not count the sins of our ancestors or parents against us.

  It always makes me laugh how they think they can tell the Jews how to interpret their OWN scriptures....and dubs in particular who base their whole theology on a prophecy that the Jews who wrote it don't even see as a prophet...Daniel - who is considered as " writings" ; essentially a story, and not a very accurate one at that!

  Cofty Damn straight!!!...in law its called men's rea...the commission of a crime includes the act - Actus reus - AND the intention or knowledge of wrongdoing - men's rea - without which there IS no crime!

  Another argument is a Adams lack of the knowledge of good and evil would put him in the category of a young child - Doli incapax - he could not know that what he did was wrong.

  The" Grand Creator" has less" reasonableness" - another big concept in law - than we do??!!
