Transfusions of whole blood are relatively rare these days. Current practice is to give you the component you need.
Not where I work. Theatres we use whole blood all the time in major surgery.
i admit to not being very well informed about the watchtower's view on blood transfusions.
i have a couple of questions that i hope someone here is able to answer.. i understand that the watchtower now considers it to be okay to receive blood fractions.. my first question is: are all fractions considered to be permissible?
and if not, specifically which fractions are not permissible?.

mark o'donnell ( john redwood) has outdone himself in this excellent piece on watchtower's appeal to the supreme court regarding their definition of clergy-penitent rights.. the case they are appealing revolves around gilbert simental, a known abuser who, although eventually removed as an elder, was allowed to remain in a position of respect, with the parents of his victims kept in the dark about the risk he posed to the children with whose care he was entrusted.
.
anyway it's an excellent piece and well worth reading.. https://jwsurvey.org/news/jehovahs-witnesses-lose-california-child-abuse-case-appeal-to-u-s-supreme-court-part-one.
Thanks Blondie 👍👍👍
i had gotten a phone call from a brother who was really upset.
he said there was a resolution passed that everyone is in agreement to the selling of the elmira hall.
the strange thing is at the congregation picnic an elder told him that a few years ago the deed to the hall was signed over to the org.
Don't they notice that the day something bad happens they get a talk telling them to grass on each other if anyone says anything negative and not to read anything negative about the org.
They took their money for the car park filling knowing they were planning to sell the hall. That must have been planned by the branch office at least a year prior. I bet the CO knew. It's becoming a blatant con, they are confidence tricksters.
They ask for a show of hands fully knowing the motion will get passed. It's just to fool them into feeling they have a say when really they have none.
........so far to date.

domestic violence in the “tooth”... is this a thing?!.
you are starting to know me by now as i’m always full of questions... my clogs are always in motion and never stop... so another question for you to give me some guidance if you can.
based on pasts experience or cases you might heard of or seen, what advice could you give me in helping someone that is a jehovah witness, married with another jw but lives a marriage that is plagued by emotional domestic abuse and financial control?
She needs to document everything, with dates and times, but put any writings etc, in a safe place away from the husband. Write a diary of events, of stresses, of impacts, of the shoving etc. Maybe she can give the diarys to you, to keep safe from her husband. She needs to keep receipts as much as she can of his spending on himself
I agree with this but the problem is she won't do it if she thinks it's collecting data to use against him.
So...Why not ask her to write a regular diary - and pour her heart out to it, don't hold back - as a good way of dealing with stress etc and helping her to be a better Christian
BUT of course this has the real advantage of documenting his behaviour, albeit in a modified way,
1.however should she need it in the future it's there, in writing
2. It may help her to see how bad things really are ( and they are) when she reflects back on how her life is progressing via the diary.
And yes, isn't it awful how the victim gets judged???
so.. you are a jw or studying, living your life and doing your bit, feverish of spreading the good news to everyone that will listen!.
you prep yourself for meetings, doing your ministry and applying all that there is into your daily life.. so....i have a question... you know... my clogs.
when you where completely in the religion, did you ever think about the impact of your way of life and religion towards others, specially those that lived around you such as good friends or family members that didn’t studied?
I mean, really, isn't it ridiculous to think that either baptizing a child at birth or being the minor child of baptised jw parents should give those children protection that other children are not worthy of?
That fact alone should make you realise that all religions are guff.
As to your question, I sort of completely inwardly denied that almost *anyone* would die in Armageddon. I thought people wouldn't be punished for not "understanding" or having "time".
