i just saw got a message from cappytan that he is going live on the 19th june est (uk 8 pm) with mark o'donnell & jake alt worldly to discuss the recent scotus ruling in favour of watchtower re: the stratton v. watchtower case.

so the stratton mayor required anyone canvasing door to door to fill out a form prior to visiting residents homes.

watchtower claimed the form, which required you to reveal your name, was unconstitutional and interfered with their first amendment, free speech rights.. my step father in the uk was responsible for our restriction on 'cold calling" law, enacted to protect the vulnerable from illegitimate businessmen, criminals and others intent on taking advantage of the vulnerable at home or otherwise doing them harm.

It is a by-law usually enacted in areas with high numbers of the elderly, assisted living or those with learning disabilities.

It's seems as if the Stratton mayor was attempting to do something similar?*

Anyway should be interesting since they are commenting on a watchtower video on the subject.

*NB there had been a recent murder of a householder by a canvasser in the next town.

Hang on...if by some chance he wins a case against any of them, will the Croatian government pay him the damages, since it's a criminal case? Anyone know? (It's just in the UK if the guilty don't pay up in a criminal case people can get damages from the government).

i see there has already been discussion over lloyd’s new book how to leave the jehovah's witnesses.

this includes discussion around his personality, motives and financial gains.

i have written a foreword for this book, because it is an important topic that has not been covered in such a complete format before.

Could it be part of a sales technique? For instance, Lloyd could have made more money doing ______, but he made the sacrifice of being a full-time critic of Watchtower instead. So we must support Lloyd's "work" because he is giving up so much more by being a anti-Watchtower vlogger.

Listen I think privately Paul probably sees the conflict of interest, but I know he's a genuinely nice guy and so is probably concerned about a pile -on and mental health. However I've come to see that sometimes being only kind, does not always benefit human beings in ALL situations.

And as far as I know he hasn't reached out privately (as a fellow Australian) to Kim, which to me would be the main thing.

LMSAMy guess is he knows the true names and identities of the mods there and privately threatened them with litigation if they didn't shut down the threads that were started about him. It's probably part of the compromise that they started with their own "megathreads" which had all these rules beforehand about what you could or couldn't post. He'd do it here too if he felt Simon was a chump and would take down or lock this thread if he threatened him enough

Me I think there is now plenty of case law that demonstrates a website/social media platform etc is not considered the publisher and therefore is not legally responsible for what people post. Even if it were, it's only Reddit he could sue not the mods (of course Reddit could shut down the sub).I think it's more that there are still a couple of mods - or at least one- loyal to Lloyd as they've mentioned disagreements over him before.

Frankly LMSA when this all kicked off and Reddit deleted Kim's post I was so effing angry I didn't look at Reddit for a week or so ....I thought I'd blow a gasket 🤪😂.

I had my fill with what I'll term the 'new' mods over the BCG/Lloyd thing.

I tried to subtly ask u/Ziddina if there had been a "hostile takeover" of HIS drones on the site since they appeared to loose all even handedness when the old lot stepped down/lessened their workload. He's THAT manipulative I literally thought he'd planted his own mods there to complete his "empire"😭🤦

Glad they've seen the light a bit but I think a lot of the younger kids are very naive about prostitution, especially in the third world.

Fully understand and support people's reluctance to denigrate women who are already exploited and marginalized.

However in my opinion "sex work" is stripping or topless/nude models/onlyfans or raunchy Burlesque maybe.

Prostitution is something else. In fact calling it work is insulting to the many women, men, boys and girls who are forced to sell their intimate parts (many don't even get the money). Even in the west almost all are addicts, so it's questionable that that is a choice.

But that's only my definition. Some may see it differently.

That latest so-called book (pamphlet) Cedars wrote and Paul refers to was an out right theft of The Great Apostate's book, 'How to leave the Watchtower' that he wrote and published FREE for those who need it!!

Cedars used that pamphlet to grift money from vulnerable exjws, some abuse survivors, who had to PAY HIM for their stories in the back of that worthless book. Any of the info therein they could find here, or on any number of exjw sites, for free and in 5 mins flat.

Paul claimed there is nothing to be made in exjw activism. Well there isn't if you class a six figure income as 'nothing'.

I respect you very much, Paul Grundy. But this has not aged well.
