Trying to have a relationship with a narcissist eventually damages the non-narcissist.
Hi I meant to write "one extreme OR the other" so in other words some JW kids grow up to be narcissists and some spend their lives centering others and develop no boundaries.
And yes I grew up with a narcissist then married one and I'm always second guessing myself as to whether I've developed narcissistic tendencies. I'm sure I have. These men were always in competition with their own kids and so if my kids show concern toward me I'm terrified I'm 'making it about me'. Since my father always did, as did my first husband.

limboyfat, that’s an amazing video on narcissism. Sam Vaknin explains how all humans start out with narcissism, but most people work their way out of it as they mature. And he says that an adult narcissist only sees the people around him as useful instruments. It clears up so much. Also, he talks about the narcissist’s voracious appetite for praise.
Sort of off topic but there has to be a reason a child isn't able to adjust from the natural developmental narcissism a child has, to the empathy for and even centering of others whilst maintaining healthy boundaries, of an emotionally healthy adult.
Why is it JW kids so often have this problem. Often becoming one extreme of the other....perhaps Dijana developing the tendency to have no sense of self and preservation of such.
Some women can swing from one to the other, too, which can be confusing to their own family later on.
JW parents who prioritize the organization over their children, perhaps create an environment where kids are unable to out grow the Narcissism of young childhood??

I can't believe no one has posted about OLivia Newton-John (we used to call her Neutron Bomb but I thought that a little disrespectful!) She's a Dame, apparently , I had no idea she was a Brit....born in Cambridge! I have fond memories of doing our class V Class version of "Glee" on the playing fields at lunch time😊

I can't find any reference to Lloyd Evans on either the state's documents or the website. Not saying it isn't there, just saying that if it is there, its buried deep enough that I didn't see it in half an hour of poking around.
As to the website etc it's possible they removed all references to him after the fall out of his publicly revealing the identities of JW apostates, in order to increase AAWA membership numbers.
Wasnt he John Cedars on the documents? (Edit: you're aware of this sorry)

However, two elderly JW men choose not to have any funeral ceremony. If their wives stayed JW, and the men woke up, (which is what I suspect) that would be the only solution. I realize that this talk of obituaries is off-topic.
That is so utterly awful, Vintage. I'm so sorry about these chaps. How awful not to have the eulogy they deserve because their wives are captives of an organization that will use their funeral to recruit more victims😡

Aude SAPERE I suggest adding an intro/background chapter with details found on JWN.
On JWN, JLE describes his ambition to create a cohesive community for all xJW's with him (at the time know as '(John)Cedars) as the lead. Then JLE completely botched the AAWA launch project with deception (ie: using an alias to form an actual, legal US corporation) and excessive control.
This is an excellent idea and pretty much an essential first chapter (I'd usually say it would be the intro but so many people skip them!)
I think it's important someone around at the time writes this part as it's extremely important to set the tone correctly.
Then JLE completely botched the AAWA launch project with deception (ie: using an alias to form an actual, legal US corporation) and excessive control.
This is quite instructional as to his level of young egotism and ambition. Not always a bad thing in moderation, when coupled with a lack of education and inability to accept constructive criticism it was always going to end in disaster, as was the case here.
Given the level of ability and the calibre of the folks willing support this endeavour, it's a real pity he wasted such promise.
