  also ich winke jeden tag meinem tv-gerät und wer von uns hat nicht schon vor wachtturmcomicsbildchen geweint.. wer an dämonen, vampire und wehrwölfe glaubt, der glaubt auch das sich der fernseher freut, wenn ich in seine richtung klatsche.

  wenn ich mir alleine vor dem fernseher ein kongressvideo ansehe, stecke ich mir auch mein namensschild an.. in zukunft poste ich nur noch selfies mit meinem fernsehgerät.. und wenn ich in zukunft vor dem fernsehgerät singe stehe ich selbstverständlich dabei auf – denn gott sieht alles, er hört alles und er riecht alles….

  Illinois Elders as mandatory reporters must undergo training

  illinois now requires all elders as mandatory reporters to undergo state approved training every three years to ensure they fully understand their roles as mandated reporters.

  this will include a pre training assessment, 60 - 90 mins of self paced, interactive training with a final assessment to ensure reporters understand their responsibilities.

  following the course, mandated reporters must make a declaration that they understand their status as a reporter and will fully comply with mandatory requirements.

  A question about the contemporary generation teaching following a conversation with a JW apologist

  i would like to ask the ex-jws on this site to put their ‘apologists hat’ back on for a moment, so that i can go through the overlapping generation teaching in an attempt to make sense of it.

  i apologise if these points have already been addressed on this site.a quick background for the reason for my request… having never confronted a jw apologist on the topic, i recently engaged with a jw regarding the official understanding of a ‘generation’ and unfortunately he didn’t have an answer to the points i was making.

  i was left a little confused as to what the official jw response would/should be.so i was hoping that my thoughts below might be considered from an apologist’s perspective.the point in question relates to this section of the watchtower article below from 2008, as well as the jw.org video explanation of the overlapping generation:---:w08 2/15[box on page 25] can we calculate the length of “this generation”?the word “generation” usually refers to people of various ages whose lives overlap during a particular time period or event.

  Yes I've always found that to be rather selfish. The younger members of the GB are likely to be the ones left with egg on their faces when we eventually have a GB totally comprised of those anointed after "this generation'".*

  I know for sure Mr Cook was NOT anointed when Ray Franz was alive. Therefore, though anointed, he is not part of 'this generation'.

  So neither are any new GB likely to be (unless particularly old, which is not likely given watchtower's recent propensity to kick out older Bethelite's).

  ran across an older thread about this subject on Reddit (it was started by Lloyd Evans, lol!).

  It sounds like Deborah Dykstra is not interested in publishing it, for some reason.

  I wouldn't listen to ANYTHING Lloyd Evans has to say on the subject.

  Despite going through a major bereavement and long illness with her husband, despite her own illness Debra did a marvelous job of fulfilling RAYS wishes in updating crises of conscience with the correct addendum etc and ensuring it was correctly edited etc

  In other words doing FULL justice by the book and the author. It is neither quick nor easy to do a proper job of updating and publishing a book like that

  Unlike Lloyd who merely did knock off copies, charging for them and adding his own website to the cover. For shame.

  I think it really took it out of her so I don't know what's going to happen with "In search". I believe she's not young nor is she well?

  i had to laugh.. i bumped into a friend who has started going back to the meetings and who has that enthusiastic arm-waving way of talking about the stuff they're hearing from the platform.. in part he's wittering on about some talk they'd had about king david and all of his ups and downs.

  Vin Where is Mark O'Donnell active these days? He is really brilliant on legal commentary, and had himself been a victim.

  Yes he's excellent at written legal commentary but I don't believe he was a victim himself.

  exjw and artist (sponge bob) vince deporter has passed away at 63.. vince was an intense yet sweet guy.

  we didn’t always agree but he’d always swing by later and either smooth things out or just move on.

  he held no grudges.. he’ll be missed...
