Every religion should comply....
by BoogerMan in...except of course jw's!.
g84 8/22 p. 28 - "the catholic church occupies a very significant position in the world and claims to be the way of salvation for hundreds of millions of people.
any organization that assumes that position should be willing to submit to scrutiny and criticism.".

LMsA And fuck me, that familiar nasal monotone always came up when you entered in something JW related on YouTube. Itβs almost like Noel and Liam Gallagher had an annoying and overweight brother who was even more of an asshole than either of them!

That was officially the funniest mental imagery on this thread so far!

Is it Logical To Beleive In A Creator - GOD ? In This Scientific Age ?
by smiddy3 ini don`t think so .
hasn`t science ,astronomy ,time , .....proven it an illogical beleif ?.
with the information about this solar system and it`s planets ,other stars and their planets that we have information about ,and the fact that no god has ever revealed him/her self in any shape or form 'there is no evidence that a creator / god has ever existed.. except in the minds of humans who want to control a section of humanity .. the fact that religions rely on "you have to have faith" to beleive in a god ,surely is a cop out.. i look forward to your comments .. and a happy new year to you all..

Blues bro When I look at the natural world in all its wonder , I find it entirely logical to conclude that it was formed by an intelligent creator. I know that many others also look at the same things and conclude differently.
That's so interesting Blues bro, because for me that's the very thing that convinces me there cannot possibly be a benevolent god who takes interest in the welfare of its creations.
As LUHE stated, science cannot comment with certainty one way or another as to a creator god. What we can be sure of is the Genesis account is not possible, since we evolved from an ape like creature some 100 - 200, 000 years ago.Although the natural world is certainly awe inspiring, as Thomas Hobbes rightly said Life (for the majority of creatures) is nasty, brutish and short. Also the more we learn about other species we share this planet with, the more arrogant it is to think our creator is mainly concerned with us, as his pet project. I learnt the other day that the number of animals who dream is surprising - mammals of course but birds do, lizards and bumble bees. They also have desires....not just needs or wants to sustain life, but they dream about their wishes and desires as do we. Yet so many creatures suffer the most appalling death after a life where every waking our is filled with terror, for the most part.
I mean what God could come up with the idea of a wasp that lays it's eggs inside you so it's larvae will eat you alive from the inside. That's the sort of "natural world" I think of when I question how God could have thought the concept of a predator and prey arms race was a good idea as the driver for the varieties of life.

Debra I have been gathering evidence about your trips abroad London for speed dating, Texas, and of course Thailand every 3 or 4 months for the past five years,
It was poorly punctuated TonusOH, but I read this statement as meaning he visited all these places for the purposes of sexual encounters every 3 to 4 months. Not necessarily specifically visited Thailand every 3 to 4 months. But I get exactly what you're saying TonusOH, Lloyd certainly won't differentiate between a false statement and a poorly worded one - he will just scream we're all liars!
FA we do not really know if he went there specifically for sex with prostitutes. Could you please update your evidence to show this? Or do you have evidence we do not know about?
We do. We have the receipts.
Aside from the " those I met sex workers or otherwise" Facebook post and the "I dated a sex worker", a You Tube lass named "ExCult Baby" specifically posted he messaged her and confirmed he visited prostitutes in Thailand. An ex supporter of his, she was really angry he was now lying about it.

He related that he received a practically useless generic art degree and could not find any related employment. So he signed up for a series of temp jobs in offices,
Well this always confused me too. You cannot get a general arts degree in two years in the UK. Diploma, yes. Not a degree. It might be possible these days for foreign students to pay through the nose at some uni's to do a 'speeded up' master's degree, which would include the bachelor's bit in 2 years (which is the usual ploy since you can stay in the UK post).
Anyway even with a general arts bachelors at a good grade you still have quite a lot of options. I don't believe he has a degree.

by peacefulpete ina lot of ink has been spilled on the topic of the cross.
the wt felt it had uncovered some deep conspiracy when they found a number of words were used to describe how jesus was understood to have been killed.
there was an extensive thread many years ago that in short strongly supports the conclusion that at least some nt writers envisioned a cross, while others had a tree in mind.

I understood that the Romans, unlike the Greeks, rarely used crucifixion as a method of execution. It was reserved for sedition or rebellion, not run-of-the-mill crimes.
If Jesus was executed, it's likely he was seen as a rabble rouser at the very least. Romans did not interfere in Jewish religious disputes. That is absolutely sure. They must have portrayed him as marshalling the Jews to overthrow Roman rule.

V It was a little like the scene in the movie Poseidon where one group followed a leader in one direction and they passed by another leader and his group going in the opposite direction,... all trying to escape.
Good analogy vintage π

I must admit I was sceptical about Love Actually even when it came out. Not my kind of film usually.
But I was quite emotional about the old Rocker who finally found who he should have been spending Xmas with, though he'd taken him for granted for years. His best friend and manager, who had been there for him all along, through his various broken marriages and sundry disasters.
And if course the writer dude who learnt his cleaners language so he could talk to her and ask her hand in marriage.
Though in reality people rarely notice those humble ones who keep the wheels turning quietly in the background (hello postal workers, nurses and public transport workers I'm right behind you with the strikes!)

LMsA As a result of him taking cheap shots at Jake, Lloyd has now lost the guy who was going to paint his portrait of Lloyd on his next book and was planning to meet up with in the new year for a series of interviews.
Someone should tell him about the (extremely talented) Vincent Deporter's experience of him, as an artist who volunteered his time and talents for Lloyd.
Lloyd didn't so much as offer him a free T-shirt with his work on. Then proceeded to insult and block him, having used him for interview's and free artwork for merchandise.
