  Syd I guess Virtual Reality is the great filter in a sense. They are all out there, but plugging into your own personal fantasy kingdom is way too enticing and every intelligent species goes that route before developing interstellar travel.

  Funny you should say that.

  We went to collect my husband from Heathrow on the train so we essentially travelled right through London.

  What struck me was the average age of everyone we saw. I mentioned it to my husband..."Where are all the young people??!! Is it me or does everyone look so old!! I thought as you age you're supposed to feel outnumbered by the young!!"

  My husband said "oh they're here all right. They just never leave home." (i.e. They're all plugged in/online/gaming etc etc)

  Chalmers & Dennet are the most concerning for me.

  If anyone knows how an analytic thinker thinks, it's them. Or those. (Not sure which).

  Wonder if A.I. is 'The great Filter'(or the evolutionary leap almost no species is able to navigate successfully) the Fermi Paradox posits?

  Thank you Syd!* I was wondering about the elderly. And kids. What about if you're having a baby and loose your job?

  What if you have a kid with type one diabetes and you want to set up your own business - say, go self employed as a carpenter. Will you be put off from starting because your kid has a preexisting condition and your insurance will be nuts??

  Can someone explain the American Healthcare system, it's strengths and weaknesses and why America, the wealthiest country in the world, does not have universal healthcare free at the point of access, please?

  I'd also really like to know what this Obama Care was and why it was so disliked?

  They can hope it fades from public attention, but now the law is aware that baptised (& unbaptised) minors are involved in this - let's call it what it is - evil,abusive practice, they are going to struggle to keep their charitable status.

  Or do what they did--lock down, mass innoculation and boosters

  the outcome--? is still on going.

  All of these things have been standard care for years, Stan. In other words Carry on, NHS, carry on..

  First thing - protect the vulnerable with a ring of steel - so not ship COVID infected elderly back into care homes killing thousands.

  Second - Continue with the medical ethics that has served us well thus far, to wit: FIRST DO NO HARM & bodily autonomy above all else.

  Third - Don't spread false information ie that natural immunity is not effective/less effective than vaccines which was patently ridiculous

  Fourth - Individualized care

  I agree those most at risk, on balance, would probably have been advised by HM gov to take the vaccines & I have no problem with that. What I have an issue with is pushing kids & young people to take vaccines when the disease posed them no risk whatsoever.
