  life, man.

  anywho, 13 years out (that feels wild), born in, fourth generation, elder’s daughter, baptized at ten, partially homeschooled (but apparently not enough lol), former convention stage performer/pioneer/foreign language congregation member, etc.

  YOU are the "rightly disposed" one. (It doesn't add 'to be a Jehovah's witness' at the end!) What is it with these people?!! Imagine so carelessly trying to ruin someone's big day like that. His own father! Nuts when you really think about it!

  I'm very sorry about your cousin😞It's funny, although most negative feelings wane over time, when it comes to death - especially a tragic young death - the pain increases, imho. I think because it starts to hit hard, as your own life experiences pile up, just how much your loved one has missed. Just how much they've been denied. It's just something I've noticed. The older apostates get, the angrier they get about "JW Suicides", even when Watchtower barely enters their thoughts anymore, let alone their lives.

  NB TonusOH it was me that claimed Dijana's brother died from suicide, that's where you heard it from. I'm really sorry. I apologise to Dijana, too, if she happens to come across it. I remembered Lloyd blaming the org for Dijana's brothers death, I put 2 and 2 together and got 5.

  Either way he was very young when he died (19?) and it's clearly resulted in a lot of trauma within the family, understandably. Lloyd has played on that and I believe their vulnerability around his death is the reason he was able to live in the home of two active jehovahs witnesses whilst behaving so badly (as well as being able to produce apostate content).

  henschel did not step down "from his leadership position in 2000".

  he was a governing body member up until his death in 2003. a slight error but one that implies much more given the subject matter.. henschel resigned his position as the president of watch tower pennsylvania not as a leader of the jehovah's witnesses - his so-called "leadership position".. having accurate grass roots entry level information on members of the governing body is important in litigation for law firms, and for government departments undertaking a desktop study of such a person.. any wikipedians out there capable of correcting this statement.. .

  Subbed. It's a great idea to have everything there in one place.

  Just wondering how things like the livestream, his letters, his C of C bootleg vids and the Andrew Gold interviews can be uploaded without falling foul of copyright? I know there's some good reviews of the livestream (such as the one VAA did) but there's definitely value in having them uncut. I guess linking the uncut version in the comments, perhaps?

  time for this month's patreoff!

  the fat one's numbers seem to be leveling off a bit, but we all know someone with his gravitational pull can't keep up momentum for long.. i made up another chart and used 356 for april because that's where he was on the 2nd.

  also, this time last year was when he put out his "things are bad and i don't just mean what i look like naked" video and got a +187 bump.

  New ministry, you don’t give a witness

  there are assignments on the life and ministry school now where they are suggested to just talk to people without giving a witness.. they are supposed to practice starting conversations with strangers and listening to them to talk about whatever they want to talk about .

  there is an assignment this week where the conversation ends without giving a witness.

  jws don’t look like jws anymore and now they don’t actually preach.. you could get bearded men with sweaters or other such tops and women in pants or slacks coming upto you in the park or on the street and starting a conversation with you.. then you hear them listening to you and talking about whatever they think that you wanted to talk about .

  This is kinda how it works in China, according to Amber Scorah in her book "Leaving the Witness". You make friends with householders in informal settings - such places as the launderette, café, library etc. You don't raise the issue of religion until much later, initially explaining your faith in terms of Christian bible stories etc.

  Because JWs are banned in China it may be years before you raise specifically Watchtower doctrine.

  I always thought it was somewhat cruel. To befriend someone over years and years and then just drop them if they aren't interested in becoming a JW. At least with the western Bible study model you know where you stand from the start (well...mostly.I know this point is arguable, there's still quite a bit JWs hide from Bible students)

  Well, there's this kind of thing on the regular.....

  DM Does he ever do anything he's supposed to do? How many calls and other perks has he missed because he's "sick"? (And I call bullshit on that... he's either hungover or just can't be arsed.)

  LMsA I read this as a bitter and jaded man who feels that he’s woefully underpaid and doing a job that he hates. Of course he’s going to always look for ways to get out of it.
