  Islam is growing, why?

  Basically, imho it's the concept of evil that plagues Christians - they cannot find a satisfying answer to it that also does not change their concept of god ie all good, knowing, powerful.

  Muslim theologans dissolve the problem of evil straight away as they believe evil is part of god also - a way of learning, essentially.

  I would like to point out that if they believed in conversion the Isrealites would behave like isis in a heartbeat - they have and do, only in their case the issue at stake is land.

  The problem is the same - the 'god given right'for or to do something!😡

  the above is a quote from a jw female relative.

  this was in response to a discussion about the suffragette movement ( and the movie about it that's currently in cinemas).

  she seemed to think that it would be so much better if women were just daughters/ wives/ mothers and didn't go out to work and have career's?

  he Women's Liberation movement didn't come up with the idea of women working outside the home. Women have been working outside the home, growing crops or earning money for thousands of years to feed their children

  Absolutely Xanthippe, it was only ever an option for the upper classes.

  With the opening up of the middle class during the Victorian era there was a brief time where women who where not part of the aristocracy would 'manage'the home & servants but WW 1 brought an end to much of that.

  Poor women have always worked their fingers to the bone. If they didn't die in childbirth, that is.

  Zoo's, you made my sunday.

  At the moment at my kid's school there seems to be a fashion for wearing very colourful oddly mismatched socks. As they wear uniform I think it's a way to express themselves. As a girl I always felt a little sorry for men on the fashion front (although that's improving), so trully this a place for them to shine😀

  Of course the British have been getting their butts handed to them by the Pathan's (Afganistan, but you can bet theres plenty in isis)for hundreds of years!

  However, my money is still on the GERMAN army as the best!

  so 550,00 homes in lancaster without power because of flooding in a substation caused by desmond.

  including my daughter who is at university there.

  Boy this is where a REAL network of friendships (or call it religon, but really it's like minds)would come in handy. She could do with someone not too far away to rescue her - I live in London unfortunately, I do hope she's ok.

  When I did my community midwifery it was in Hamstead Stamford hill area, big Jewish population. The non orthodox mums where horrified by the bruising & suffering the wee boys went through, many said they would not do it again!Of course the JW's would say what a miracle it's the 8th day that there is a rise in the clotting factor , but of course it's the other way around, how many babies died before they discovered that the 8th day was the safest day to operate on!

  Naturally. The Quran gives women a few rights, the right to inherit property for example, pathetic I know, but the bible gives women no rights. Women are property.

  As to the rest the bible is just as monstrous as the quaran - take your pick slavery, paedophilia, incest, homophobia, immolation, stoning, cuting of hands, child sacrifice etc bigoted violent attitudes abound.

  Anyone who pretends one is better than the other hasn't read them.

  I found the bible (in parts)less nonsensical but that's probably cultural bias.

  i would like to see a unified effort from those that have defected.

  Actually, I don't believe they are Christian - at least they don't believe in the central tenets of the Christian faith.

  And they have the cheek to call other faith's 'so - called Christians'. Humnph. Sassa frassin'....
